²⁹ “Is not my word like fire,”^(A) declares the Lord, “and like a hammer^(B) that breaks a rock in pieces?

¹⁰ See, today I appoint you over nations^(A) and kingdoms to uproot^(B) and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”^(C)

¹⁴ Therefore this is what the Lord God Almighty says:

¹² For the word of God^(A) is alive^(B) and active.^(C) Sharper than any double-edged sword,^(D) it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.^(E)

⁵ But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath^(A), when his righteous judgment^(B) will be revealed.

²¹ Nor did they repent^(A) of their murders, their magic arts,^(B) their sexual immorality^(C) or their thefts.

¹⁵ And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released^(A) to kill a third^(B) of mankind.^(C)
