⁸ The high places of ^(A)Aven, ^(B)the sin of Israel,
    shall be destroyed.
^(C)Thorn and thistle shall grow up
    on their altars,
and ^(D)they shall say to the mountains, “Cover us,”
    and to the hills, “Fall on us.”

^19 (A)And people shall enter the caves of the rocks
    and the holes of the ground,^[a]
from before the terror of the Lord,
    and from the splendor of his majesty,
    ^(B)when he rises to terrify the earth.

⁶ For behold, they are going away from destruction;
    but ^(A)Egypt shall gather them;
    Memphis shall bury them.
Nettles shall possess ^(B)their precious things of silver;
    ^(C)thorns shall be in their tents.
