The Inheritance of the Promises

But we are convinced about you, (A)beloved, of things that are better and that belong to salvation, though we are speaking in this way. 10 For (B)God is not unrighteous so as to forget (C)your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having (D)ministered and continuing to minister to the [a]saints. 11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence [b]so as to realize the (E)full assurance of (F)hope until the end, 12 so that you may not become dull, but (G)imitators of those who through (H)faith and patience (I)inherit the promises.

But even if we speak this way, we are confident of better things for you, dear friends, things belonging to salvation. 10 For God is not unjust. He will not forget your work and the love that you showed for his name’s sake, when you served the saints, and while you continue to serve them. 11 And we want each of you to continue to show the same eagerness, so that you may have the full assurance of your hope until the end. 12 Our goal is that you would not become lazy but imitators of those who inherited the promise through faith and patient endurance.
