The Inheritance of the Promises
9 But we are convinced about you, (A)beloved, of things that are better and that belong to salvation, though we are speaking in this way. 10 For (B)God is not unrighteous so as to forget (C)your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having (D)ministered and continuing to minister to the [a]saints. 11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence [b]so as to realize the (E)full assurance of (F)hope until the end, 12 so that you may not become dull, but (G)imitators of those who through (H)faith and patience (I)inherit the promises.

Make your hope sure
9 But we are convinced of better things in your case, brothers and sisters, even though we are talking this way—things that go together with salvation. 10 God isn’t unjust so that he forgets your efforts and the love you have shown for his name’s sake when you served and continue to serve God’s holy people. 11 But we desperately want each of you to show the same effort to make your hope sure until the end. 12 This is so you won’t be lazy but follow the example of the ones who inherit the promises through faith and patience.
