14 Therefore, since the children share in [a](A)flesh and blood, (B)He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that (C)through death He might render powerless (D)him who had the [b]power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and might free those who through (E)fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. 16 For assuredly He does not [c]give help to angels, but He gives help to the seed of Abraham. 17 Therefore, He [d]had (F)to be made like His brothers in all things, so that He might (G)become a merciful and faithful (H)high priest in (I)things pertaining to God, to (J)make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For since He Himself was (K)tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to help those who are tempted.

No, he came to help Abraham’s descendants, 17 thereby becoming like his brothers in every way, so that he could be a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God and could atone for the people’s sins. 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
