Warning to Pay Attention
2 We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.(A) 2 For since the message spoken(B) through angels(C) was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment,(D) 3 how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation?(E) This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord,(F) was confirmed to us by those who heard him.(G) 4 God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles,(H) and by gifts of the Holy Spirit(I) distributed according to his will.(J)
Jesus Made Fully Human
5 It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking. 6 But there is a place where someone(K) has testified:
“What is mankind that you are mindful of them,
a son of man that you care for him?(L)
7 You made them a little[a] lower than the angels;
you crowned them with glory and honor
8 and put everything under their feet.”[b][c](M)
In putting everything under them,[d] God left nothing that is not subject to them.[e] Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them.[f] 9 But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor(N) because he suffered death,(O) so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.(P)
10 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists,(Q) should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.(R) 11 Both the one who makes people holy(S) and those who are made holy(T) are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.[g](U) 12 He says,
“I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters;
in the assembly I will sing your praises.”[h](V)
13 And again,
And again he says,
14 Since the children have flesh and blood,(Y) he too shared in their humanity(Z) so that by his death he might break the power(AA) of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil(AB)— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear(AC) of death. 16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.(AD) 17 For this reason he had to be made like them,[k](AE) fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful(AF) and faithful high priest(AG) in service to God,(AH) and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.(AI) 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.(AJ)

Ang Dakilang Kaligtasan
2 Kung gayo'y dapat nating mas bigyang pansin ang mga bagay na narinig natin upang hindi tayo maligaw. 2 Napatunayang totoo ang mensaheng ipinahayag ng mga anghel at sinumang lumabag dito ay tumanggap ng kaukulang parusa. 3 Kaya paano tayo makakaiwas sa parusa kung ipagwawalang-bahala natin ang ganito kadakilang kaligtasan? Ang Panginoon ang nagpahayag nito noong una, at pinatunayan din sa atin ng mga nakarinig sa kanya. 4 Lalo pa itong pinatunayan ng Diyos sa pamamagitan ng mga tanda, ng mga kababalaghan at iba't ibang himala gayundin sa pamamagitan ng mga kaloob ng Banal na Espiritu, na ipinamahagi ayon sa kanyang kapasyahan.
Ang Nagpasimula ng Kaligtasan
5 Sapagkat hindi sa mga anghel ipinasakop ng Diyos ang sanlibutang darating, na siyang tinutukoy namin. 6 Ngunit (A) may nagpatunay sa isang dako, na sinasabi,
“Ano ang tao upang siya'y iyong alalahanin?
O ang anak ng tao upang siya'y iyong kalingain?
7 Siya'y ginawa mong mababa kaysa mga anghel nang sandaling panahon;
siya'y pinutungan mo ng kaluwalhatian at ng karangalan,
at siya'y inilagay mo sa ibabaw ng mga gawa ng iyong mga kamay.[a]
8 Ipinasakop mo ang lahat ng bagay sa kanyang mga paanan.”
Nang masakop niya ang bawat bagay, wala siyang iniwan na hindi niya nasasakop. Ngunit ngayon ay hindi pa natin nakikitang nasasakop niya ang lahat ng mga bagay, 9 kundi nakikita natin si Jesus, na sa sandaling panahon ay ginawang mababa kaysa mga anghel, na dahil sa pagdurusa ng kamatayan ay pinutungan ng kaluwalhatian at karangalan, upang sa pamamagitan ng biyaya ng Diyos ay maranasan niya ang kamatayan alang-alang sa lahat.
10 Sapagkat nararapat na ang Diyos na lumikha sa lahat at siyang patutunguhan ng lahat ng mga bagay ay nagdadala ng maraming anak tungo sa kaluwalhatian, at gawing sakdal ang tagapagtatag ng kanilang kaligtasan sa pamamagitan ng mga pagdurusa. 11 Sapagkat iisa ang pinagmulan ng gumagawang banal at ng mga ginawang banal. Dahil dito'y hindi nahihiya si Jesus na tawagin silang mga kapatid. 12 Sinabi(B) niya,
“Ipahahayag ko sa aking mga kapatid ang iyong pangalan,
aawitan kita ng mga himno sa gitna ng kapulungan.”
13 At (C) muli,
“Ilalagak ko ang aking pagtitiwala sa kanya.”
Sinabi din niya,
“Narito ako at ang mga anak na ibinigay sa akin ng Diyos.”
14 Kaya, yamang nakikibahagi ang mga anak sa laman at dugo, at siya man ay nakibahagi rin sa mga bagay na ito, upang sa pamamagitan ng kamatayan ay kanyang mapuksa ang may kapangyarihan sa kamatayan, samakatuwid ay ang diyablo, 15 at mapalaya silang lahat na dahil sa takot sa kamatayan ay nasa ilalim ng pagkaalipin sa buong buhay nila. 16 Sapagkat (D) maliwanag na hindi ang mga anghel ang kanyang tinutulungan, kundi ang mga nagmula sa binhi ni Abraham. 17 Kaya't kailangang siya ay maging kagaya ng kanyang mga kapatid sa lahat ng mga bagay, upang siya ay maging isang maawain at tapat na Kataas-taasang Pari sa mga bagay na nauukol sa Diyos, upang gumawa ng handog na pantubos sa mga kasalanan ng mga tao. 18 Palibhasa'y naranasan niyang tuksuhin, siya'y may kakayahang tumulong sa mga tinutukso.

2 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him?
7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:
8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
