²⁷ By faith he ^(A)left Egypt, ^(B)not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured ^(C)as seeing him who is invisible.

¹³ These all died in faith, ^(A)not having received the things promised, but ^(B)having seen them and greeted them from afar, and ^(C)having acknowledged that they were ^(D)strangers and exiles on the earth.

^18 (A)as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

By Faith

11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of ^(A)things not seen.

¹⁴ He answered, ^(A)“Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid, and thought, “Surely the thing is known.” ¹⁵ When Pharaoh heard of it, he sought to kill Moses. But ^(B)Moses fled from Pharaoh and stayed in the land of Midian. And he sat down by ^(C)a well.

¹¹ Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of ^(A)the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen ^(B)the purpose of the Lord, how ^(C)the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

¹⁷ To ^(A)the King of the ages, ^(B)immortal, ^(C)invisible, ^(D)the only God, ^(E)be honor and glory forever and ever.^[a] Amen.

¹⁰ When Pharaoh drew near, the people of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they feared greatly. And the people of Israel ^(A)cried out to the Lord. ¹¹ They ^(B)said to Moses, “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us in bringing us out of Egypt? ¹² Is not this what ^(C)we said to you in Egypt: ‘Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.” ¹³ And Moses said to the people, ^(D)“Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For ^(E)the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again.

⁸ And ^(A)all these your servants shall come down to me and bow down to me, saying, ‘Get out, you and all the people who follow you.’ And after that I will go out.” And he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger.
