13 Let brotherly friendship continue; but don’t forget to be friendly to outsiders; for in so doing, some people, without knowing it, have entertained angels. Remember those in prison and being mistreated, as if you were in prison with them and undergoing their torture yourselves.

Marriage is honorable in every respect; and, in particular, sex within marriage is pure. But God will indeed punish fornicators and adulterers.

Keep your lives free from the love of money; and be satisfied with what you have; for God himself has said, “I will never fail you or abandon you.”[a] Therefore, we say with confidence,

Adonai is my helper; I will not be afraid —
what can a human being do to me?”[b]

Remember your leaders, those who spoke God’s message to you. Reflect on the results of their way of life, and imitate their trust — Yeshua the Messiah is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Do not be carried away by various strange teachings; for what is good is for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods. People who have made these the focus of their lives have not benefited thereby.

10 We have an altar from which those who serve in the Tent are not permitted to eat. 11 For the cohen hagadol brings the blood of animals into the Holiest Place as a sin offering, but their bodies are burned outside the camp.[c] 12 So too Yeshua suffered death outside the gate, in order to make the people holy through his own blood. 13 Therefore, let us go out to him who is outside the camp and share his disgrace. 14 For we have no permanent city here; on the contrary, we seek the one to come. 15 Through him, therefore, let us offer God a sacrifice of praise continually.[d] For this is the natural product of lips that acknowledge his name.

16 But don’t forget doing good and sharing with others, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your lives, as people who will have to render an account. So make it a task of joy for them, not one of groaning; for that is of no advantage to you.

18 Keep praying for us, for we are certain that we have a clear conscience and want to conduct ourselves properly in everything we do. 19 And all the more I beg you to do this, so that I may be restored to you that much sooner.

20 The God of shalom brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Yeshua, by the blood of an eternal covenant. 21 May that God equip you with every good thing you need to do his will; and may he do in us whatever pleases him, through Yeshua the Messiah. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

22 Now I urge you, brothers, to bear with my message of exhortation; for I have written you only briefly.

23 Know that our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes soon enough, I will bring him with me when I come to see you.

24 Greet all your leaders and all God’s people. The people from Italy send greetings to you.

25 Grace be with you all.

13 Let ahavat achim (brotherly love) continue.

Do not neglect hachnosas orchim (hospitality), for by this some without having da’as of it, have entertained malachim.

Have zikaron of the prisoners in the beis hasohar, as if having been bound with sharsherot (chains) with them; and those being tortured as though you were also.

Let the marriage Chuppah have respect in the eyes of all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for those guilty of gilui arayot (sexual immorality) and no’afim (adulterers), Hashem will judge.

Fier zich (comport oneself) in your derech free of chamdanut (covetousness), being content with what you have, for He Himself has said, LO ARPECHA V’LO E’EZVECHA ("I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you” DEVARIM 31:6,8; YEHOSHUA 1:5),

So that we say with bitachon, HASHEM LI my helper, LO IRA MAH YA’ASEH LI ADAM ("The L-rd is my helper, I will not be afraid. What shall man do to me?"—TEHILLIM 118:6)?

Remember your manhigim and be machshiv (respect) and mechabed (honor) those who spoke to you the dvar Hashem; and considering the toitzaa (outcome) of their derech, imitate their Emunah.

Yehoshua—Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, the same etmol, hayom, ul’Olamim.

Do not be carried away by various torot zarot; for it is tov for the lev to be given chizzuk by the Chen v’Chesed Hashem, not by okhel through which those who were thus occupied were not benefited.

10 We have a Mizbe’ach from which those who serve the Mishkan have no right to eat.

11 For the zevakhim whose dahm is brought into the Kodesh HaKodashim by the Kohen Gadol as a Kapparat HaChet are burned outside the makhaneh (camp).

12 Therefore, Yehoshua also, that he might make the Am Brit kadoshim through his own dahm, suffered outside the sha’ar.

13 So then, let us go out to him outside the makhaneh, bearing the reproach of Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach.

14 For we do not have here a lasting Ir HaKodesh, but we seek one to come.

15 By him, therefore, let us offer up a zevach todah to Hashem continually, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving hodayah (thanksgiving) to SHMO (“HIS NAME” ZECHARIAH 6:11-12; 3:8).

16 But do not drift away from ma’asim tovim and sharing; for with such zevakhim Hashem is well pleased.

17 Obey your manhigim and submit to them; for they are being shomer over your neshamot, as those who have achraius (answerability, accountability) [to Hashem]. Let them do so with simcha and not with agmat nefesh, for that would not be profitable for you.

18 Daven tefillos for us, for we are persuaded that we have a clear matzpun (conscience) in everything, wishing to conduct ourselves commendably in all things.

19 And I urge you all the more to do this, that I may be restored to you more quickly.

20 Now the Elohei Hashalom, who brought up in the Techiyas HaMoshiach, HaRo’eh HaTzon HaGadol, through the Dahm Brit Olam, even Adoneinu,

21 May He equip you with every ma’aseh tov in order to do His ratzon, working in us that which is well pleasing in His sight through Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach Yehoshua, to whom be kavod l’Olemei Olamim. Omein.

22 Now I urge you, Achim b’Moshiach, bear with this dvar hachizzuk, for indeed an iggeret I have written you bekitzur (briefly, concisely).

23 Have da’as that our Ach b’Moshiach Timotiyos has been released, with whom if he comes shortly, I will see you.

24 Shalom greetings to all your manhigim and all the kadoshim. The ones from Italy send shalom greetings to you.

25 Chen v’Chesed Hashem be with all of you. [T.N. MJ 4:15 "tempted in every way as we are, yet without chet." means chet as inborn and immemorial yetzer hara evil inclination which is Chet Kadmon Original Sin whose power and control is passed down to Bnei Adam from Adam, Ro3:9; Ro 5:12-see pages vii-ix on Moshiach Immanu-El Ben HaAlmah uncontaminated by Chet Kadmon].

Concluding Exhortations

13 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.(A) Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers,(B) for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.(C) Continue to remember those in prison(D) as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

Marriage should be honored by all,(E) and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.(F) Keep your lives free from the love of money(G) and be content with what you have,(H) because God has said,

“Never will I leave you;
    never will I forsake you.”[a](I)

So we say with confidence,

“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”[b](J)

Remember your leaders,(K) who spoke the word of God(L) to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate(M) their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.(N)

Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.(O) It is good for our hearts to be strengthened(P) by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods,(Q) which is of no benefit to those who do so.(R) 10 We have an altar from which those who minister at the tabernacle(S) have no right to eat.(T)

11 The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering,(U) but the bodies are burned outside the camp.(V) 12 And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate(W) to make the people holy(X) through his own blood.(Y) 13 Let us, then, go to him(Z) outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore.(AA) 14 For here we do not have an enduring city,(AB) but we are looking for the city that is to come.(AC)

15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice(AD) of praise—the fruit of lips(AE) that openly profess his name. 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others,(AF) for with such sacrifices(AG) God is pleased.

17 Have confidence in your leaders(AH) and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you(AI) as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.

18 Pray for us.(AJ) We are sure that we have a clear conscience(AK) and desire to live honorably in every way. 19 I particularly urge you to pray so that I may be restored to you soon.(AL)

Benediction and Final Greetings

20 Now may the God of peace,(AM) who through the blood of the eternal covenant(AN) brought back from the dead(AO) our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,(AP) 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will,(AQ) and may he work in us(AR) what is pleasing to him,(AS) through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.(AT)

22 Brothers and sisters, I urge you to bear with my word of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you quite briefly.(AU)

23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy(AV) has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you.

24 Greet all your leaders(AW) and all the Lord’s people. Those from Italy(AX) send you their greetings.

25 Grace be with you all.(AY)

Footnotes

  1. Hebrews 13:5 Deut. 31:6
  2. Hebrews 13:6 Psalm 118:6,7

He exhorts us to love, to be ready to take people in, to be thoughtful of persons in adversity, to maintain wedlock, to avoid covetousness, to make much of those who preach God’s word, to beware of other teaching, to be content to suffer rebuke with Christ, to be thankful to God, and to be obedient to those who have the oversight of us.

13 Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to lodge strangers, for by so doing some have received angels into their houses unawares. Remember those who are in bonds, even as though you were bound with them. Be mindful of those who are in adversity, as persons who are yourselves also yet in your bodies.

Let wedlock be had in honour in all points, and let the bedchamber be undefiled. For whorekeepers and adulterers God will judge.

Let your living be without covetousness, and be content with what you have already. For he has truly said: I will not fail you nor forsake you. Therefore we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man does to me.

Remember those who have the oversight of you, who have declared to you the word of God. See that you look upon the way they live out their life, and follow their faith.

Jesus Christ continues the same yesterday and today and forever. Do not be carried about with other and different teaching. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace, and not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied in them.

10 We have an altar from which those who serve in the tabernacle may not eat. 11 For the bodies of those beasts whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest to purge sin, are burnt outside the tents. 12 Therefore Jesus, to sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate.

13 Let us go forth therefore out of the tents and suffer rebuke with him. 14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. 15 For by him we offer the sacrifice of laud always to God; that is to say, the fruit of those lips that confess his name.

16 To do good and to distribute to the poor, do not forget. For with such sacrifices, God is pleased.

17 Obey those who have the oversight of you, and submit yourselves to them, for they watch for your souls even as those who must give accounts. Let them do it with joy, and not with grief. For that is an unprofitable thing for you.

18 Pray for us. We have confidence, because we have a good conscience in all things, and desire to live righteously. 19 I ask you therefore even more so to pray that I may be restored to you quickly.

20 May the God of peace, who brought back again from death our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting testament, 21 make you perfect in all good works to do his will, working in you that which is pleasing in his sight through Jesus Christ – to whom be glory forever while the world endures. Amen.

22 I beseech you brethren, submit patiently to the words of exhortation. For we have written to you in few words.

23 Acknowledge the brother Timothy, whom we have sent from us, with whom (if he comes shortly) I will see you.

24 Greet those who have the oversight of you, and all the saints. The people of Italy send you greetings.

25 Grace be with you all.

Sent from Italy by
the hand of
Timothy.
