²⁷ And just as it is appointed for mortals to die once and after that the judgment,^(A)

¹⁰ For all of us must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may receive due recompense for actions done in the body, whether good or evil.^(A)

⁷ and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the breath^[a] returns to God who gave it.^(A)

¹⁴ For God will bring every deed into judgment, including^[a] every secret thing, whether good or evil.^(A)

¹⁵ to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly^[a] of all the deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

⁵ The living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no more reward, and even the memory of them is lost.^(A)

¹⁴ We must all die; we are like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up. But God will not take away a life; he will devise plans so as not to keep an outcast banished forever from his presence.^[a](A)

³¹ because he has fixed a day on which he will have the world judged in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”^(A)

²⁶ For just as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself, ²⁷ and he has given him authority to execute judgment because he is the Son of Man.^{(A) 28} Do not be astonished at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice ²⁹ and will come out: those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation.^(B)

²⁰ All go to one place, all are from the dust, and all turn to dust again.^(A)
