Hear the Heavenly Voice

²⁵ See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For ^(A)if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,

⁵ who serve ^(A)the copy and ^(B)shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, ^(C)“See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”

Do Not Neglect Salvation

2 Therefore we must give ^[a]the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. ² For if the word ^(A)spoken through angels proved steadfast, and ^(B)every transgression and disobedience received a just ^[b]reward, ^3 (C)how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, ^(D)which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was ^(E)confirmed to us by those who heard Him,

⁷ By faith ^(A)Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, ^(B)prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of ^(C)the righteousness which is according to faith.

¹¹ “But they refused to heed, ^(A)shrugged^[a] their shoulders, and ^(B)stopped^[b] their ears so that they could not hear.

The Law of the Altar

²² Then the Lord said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘You have seen that I have talked with you ^(A)from heaven.

²⁸ Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three ^(A)witnesses. ^29 (B)Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, ^(C)counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, ^(D)and insulted the Spirit of grace?

⁴ and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and ^(A)be turned aside to fables.
