⁶ For thus says the Lord of hosts: ^(A)Yet once more, in a little while, ^(B)I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land.

²⁶ At that time ^(A)his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, ^(B)“Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” ²⁷ This phrase, “Yet once more,” indicates ^(C)the removal of things that are shaken—that is, things that have been made—in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain. ²⁸ Therefore let us be grateful for receiving ^(D)a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus ^(E)let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,

²⁵ For ^(A)in a very little while my fury will come to an end, and my anger will be directed to their destruction.

The Coming of the Son of Man

²⁵ “And ^(A)there will be signs in sun and moon ^(B)and stars, and on the earth ^(C)distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, ²⁶ people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For ^(D)the powers of the heavens will be shaken. ²⁷ And then they will see ^(E)the Son of Man coming in a cloud ^(F)with power and great glory.

²⁴ “But in those days, after ^(A)that tribulation, ^(B)the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, ²⁵ and ^(C)the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. ²⁶ And then they will see ^(D)the Son of Man coming in clouds ^(E)with great power and glory.

²¹ “Speak to ^(A)Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, ^(B)I am about to shake the heavens and the earth, ²² and ^(C)to overthrow the throne of kingdoms. I am about to destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations, and ^(D)overthrow the chariots and their riders. And the horses and their riders shall go down, ^(E)every one by the sword of his brother.
