⁴⁰ He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, ^(A)the very stones would cry out.”

²⁷ And Joshua said to all the people, “Behold, ^(A)this stone shall be a witness against us, for ^(B)it has heard all the words of the Lord that he spoke to us. Therefore it shall be a witness against you, lest you deal falsely with your God.”

³ Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. ^(A)You have laid up treasure ^(B)in the last days. ⁴ Behold, ^(C)the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and ^(D)the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of ^(E)the Lord of hosts.

The words of Job are ended.

²⁴ and to Jesus, ^(A)the mediator of a new covenant, and to ^(B)the sprinkled blood ^(C)that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

¹⁰ And the Lord said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood ^(A)is crying to me from the ground.

¹⁰ They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, ^(A)holy and true, ^(B)how long ^(C)before you will judge and ^(D)avenge our blood on ^(E)those who dwell on the earth?”
