11 And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a great mourning of the Egyptians; therefore the name of it was called Abelmizraim, which is beyond the Jordan.
12 And his sons did unto him according as he commanded them;
13 for his sons carried him into the land of Canaan and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a buryingplace from Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.

11 The Canaanites living in that land saw the mourning at the threshing floor of Atad and said, “It is a solemn funeral for the Egyptians.” Because of this they called the place Abel-mizraim, and it is on the other side of the Jordan.
12 Jacob’s sons did what he had commanded them to do for him. 13 They brought him into the land of Canaan and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, the field that Abraham had bought from Ephron the Hittite to be his burial place and that faces Mamre.

11 When the Canaanites(A) who lived there saw the mourning at the threshing floor of Atad, they said, “The Egyptians are holding a solemn ceremony of mourning.”(B) That is why that place near the Jordan is called Abel Mizraim.[a]
12 So Jacob’s sons did as he had commanded them:(C) 13 They carried him to the land of Canaan and buried him in the cave in the field of Machpelah,(D) near Mamre,(E) which Abraham had bought along with the field(F) as a burial place from Ephron the Hittite.(G)
