Ang mga Lahi ni Esau(A)
36 Ito ang salaysay tungkol sa pamilya ni Esau (na tinatawag ding Edom).
2 Nakapag-asawa si Esau ng mga babaeng taga-Canaan. Silaʼy sina Ada na anak ni Elon na Heteo, si Oholibama na anak ni Ana at apo ni Zibeon na Hiveo, 3 at si Basemat na kapatid ni Nebayot na anak ni Ishmael.
4 Ang anak ni Esau kay Ada ay si Elifaz. Ang anak niya kay Basemat ay si Reuel. 5 At ang mga anak niya kay Oholibama ay sina Jeush, Jalam at Kora. Sila ang mga anak ni Esau na isinilang sa Canaan.
6 Dinala ni Esau ang kanyang mga asawaʼt anak, ang lahat ng sakop ng kanyang sambahayan, pati ang mga ari-arian at mga hayop niya na naipon niya sa Canaan. At lumipat siya sa isang lupain na malayo kay Jacob na kanyang kapatid. 7 Sapagkat hindi na sila maaaring magsama sa isang lupain dahil sa dami ng mga ari-arian nila; at ang lupain na kanilang tinitirhan ay hindi sapat sa kanila dahil sa dami ng mga hayop nila. 8 Kaya roon tumira si Esau (na tinatawag ding Edom) sa kabundukan ng Seir.
9 Ito ang salaysay tungkol sa pamilya ni Esau na ama ng mga Edomita na nakatira sa kabundukan ng Seir.
10 Ang anak na lalaki ni Esau kay Basemat ay si Reuel, at ang anak niyang lalaki kay Ada ay si Elifaz.
11 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Elifaz ay sina Teman, Omar, Zefo, Gatam at Kenaz.
12 May anak ding lalaki si Elifaz sa isa pa niyang asawa na si Timna. Siya ay si Amalek. Sila ang mga apo ni Esau kay Ada.
13 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Reuel ay sina Nahat, Zera, Shama, at Miza. Sila ang mga apo ni Esau kay Basemat.
14 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Esau kay Oholibama ay sina Jeush, Jalam at Kora. (Si Oholibama ay anak ni Ana at apo ni Zibeon).
15 Ito ang mga lahi ni Esau na naging pinuno ng ibaʼt ibang angkan: Ang mga lahi ng panganay na anak ni Esau na si Elifaz na naging mga pinuno ay sina Teman, Omar, Zefo, Kenaz, 16 Kora, Gatam at Amalek. Sila ang mga pinuno sa lupain ng Edom na nagmula kay Elifaz. Sila ay nagmula sa asawa ni Esau na si Ada.
17 Naging pinuno rin sa Edom ang mga anak ni Reuel na sina Nahat, Zera, Shama, at Miza. Sila ang mga apo ni Esau kay Basemat.
18 Naging pinuno rin ang mga anak ni Esau kay Oholibama na anak ni Ana. Sila ay sina Jeush, Jalam at Kora.
19 Silang lahat ang lahi ni Esau na mga pinuno ng Edom.
Ang mga Lahi ni Seir(B)
20 Ito ang mga anak na lalaki ni Seir na Horeo na nakatira sa Edom: Si Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Ana, 21 Dishon, Ezer at Dishan. Naging pinuno rin sila ng mga Horeo na nakatira sa Edom.
22 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Lotan ay sina Hori at Heman.[a] Si Lotan ay mayroong kapatid na babae na si Timna na isa pang asawa ni Elifaz.
23 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Shobal ay sina Alvan, Manahat, Ebal, Shefo at Onam.
24 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Zibeon ay sina Aya at Ana. Si Ana ang nakatuklas ng bukal doon sa ilang habang nagpapastol siya ng mga asno ng kanyang ama.
25 Ang mga anak ni Ana ay sina Dishon at Oholibama.
26 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Dishon ay sina Hemdan, Eshban, Itran at Keran.
27 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Ezer ay sina Bilhan, Zaavan at Akan.
28 Ang mga anak na lalaki ni Dishan ay sina Uz at Aran.
29-30 Ito naman ang mga pinuno batay sa bawat lahi ng mga Horeo na may pinamamahalaang lupain sa Seir: sina Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Ana, Dishon, Ezer at Dishan.
Ang mga Hari ng Edom(C)
31 Ito ang mga hari ng Edom noong panahon na wala pang mga hari ang mga Israelita:
32 Si Bela na taga-Dinhaba na anak ni Beor ay naging hari sa Edom.
33 Pagkamatay ni Bela, pinalitan siya ni Jobab na anak ni Zera na taga-Bozra.
34 Pagkamatay ni Jobab, pinalitan siya ni Husham na taga-Teman.
35 Pagkamatay ni Husham, pinalitan siya ni Hadad na taga-Avit na anak ni Bedad. Si Hadad ang tumalo sa mga Midianita roon sa Moab.
36 Pagkamatay ni Hadad, pinalitan siya ni Samla na taga-Masreka.
37 Pagkamatay ni Samla, pinalitan siya ni Shaul na taga-Rehobot na malapit sa ilog.[b]
38 Pagkamatay ni Shaul, pinalitan siya ni Baal Hanan na anak ni Acbor.
39 Pagkamatay ni Baal Hanan na anak ni Acbor, pinalitan siya ni Hadad na taga-Pau. Ang asawa niya ay si Mehetabel na anak ni Matred at apo ni Me-Zahab.
40-43 Si Esau (na tinatawag ding Edom) ang pinagmulan ng mga Edomita. At ito ang mga naging pinuno sa mga lahi ni Esau na ang angkan at lupain ay ipinangalan sa kanila: Timna, Alva, Jetet, Oholibama, Elah, Pinon, Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, Magdiel, at Iram.

Esau’s Descendants(A)(B)
36 This is the account(C) of the family line of Esau (that is, Edom).(D)
2 Esau took his wives from the women of Canaan:(E) Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite,(F) and Oholibamah(G) daughter of Anah(H) and granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite(I)— 3 also Basemath(J) daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.(K)
4 Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, Basemath bore Reuel,(L) 5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam and Korah.(M) These were the sons of Esau, who were born to him in Canaan.
6 Esau took his wives and sons and daughters and all the members of his household, as well as his livestock and all his other animals and all the goods he had acquired in Canaan,(N) and moved to a land some distance from his brother Jacob.(O) 7 Their possessions were too great for them to remain together; the land where they were staying could not support them both because of their livestock.(P) 8 So Esau(Q) (that is, Edom)(R) settled in the hill country of Seir.(S)
9 This is the account(T) of the family line of Esau the father of the Edomites(U) in the hill country of Seir.
10 These are the names of Esau’s sons:
Eliphaz, the son of Esau’s wife Adah, and Reuel, the son of Esau’s wife Basemath.(V)
11 The sons of Eliphaz:(W)
Teman,(X) Omar, Zepho, Gatam and Kenaz.(Y)
12 Esau’s son Eliphaz also had a concubine(Z) named Timna, who bore him Amalek.(AA) These were grandsons of Esau’s wife Adah.(AB)
13 The sons of Reuel:
Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These were grandsons of Esau’s wife Basemath.(AC)
14 The sons of Esau’s wife Oholibamah(AD) daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon, whom she bore to Esau:
Jeush, Jalam and Korah.(AE)
15 These were the chiefs(AF) among Esau’s descendants:
The sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau:
Chiefs Teman,(AG) Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,(AH) 16 Korah,[a] Gatam and Amalek. These were the chiefs descended from Eliphaz(AI) in Edom;(AJ) they were grandsons of Adah.(AK)
17 The sons of Esau’s son Reuel:(AL)
Chiefs Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These were the chiefs descended from Reuel in Edom; they were grandsons of Esau’s wife Basemath.(AM)
18 The sons of Esau’s wife Oholibamah:(AN)
Chiefs Jeush, Jalam and Korah.(AO) These were the chiefs descended from Esau’s wife Oholibamah daughter of Anah.
19 These were the sons of Esau(AP) (that is, Edom),(AQ) and these were their chiefs.(AR)
20 These were the sons of Seir the Horite,(AS) who were living in the region:
Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,(AT) 21 Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. These sons of Seir in Edom were Horite chiefs.(AU)
22 The sons of Lotan:
Hori and Homam.[b] Timna was Lotan’s sister.
23 The sons of Shobal:
Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho and Onam.
24 The sons of Zibeon:(AV)
Aiah and Anah. This is the Anah who discovered the hot springs[c](AW) in the desert while he was grazing the donkeys(AX) of his father Zibeon.
25 The children of Anah:(AY)
Dishon and Oholibamah(AZ) daughter of Anah.
26 The sons of Dishon[d]:
Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran and Keran.
27 The sons of Ezer:
Bilhan, Zaavan and Akan.
28 The sons of Dishan:
Uz and Aran.
29 These were the Horite chiefs:
Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,(BA) 30 Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. These were the Horite chiefs,(BB) according to their divisions, in the land of Seir.
The Rulers of Edom(BC)
31 These were the kings who reigned in Edom before any Israelite king(BD) reigned:
32 Bela son of Beor became king of Edom. His city was named Dinhabah.
33 When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah(BE) succeeded him as king.
34 When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites(BF) succeeded him as king.
35 When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian(BG) in the country of Moab,(BH) succeeded him as king. His city was named Avith.
36 When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah succeeded him as king.
37 When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth(BI) on the river succeeded him as king.
38 When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan son of Akbor succeeded him as king.
39 When Baal-Hanan son of Akbor died, Hadad[e] succeeded him as king. His city was named Pau, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-Zahab.
40 These were the chiefs(BJ) descended from Esau, by name, according to their clans and regions:
Timna, Alvah, Jetheth, 41 Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon, 42 Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, 43 Magdiel and Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their settlements in the land they occupied.
This is the family line of Esau, the father of the Edomites.(BK)

These were the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
6 Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the persons of his household, his cattle and all his animals, and all his goods which he had gained in the land of Canaan, and went to a country away from the presence of his brother Jacob. 7 (H)For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together, and (I)the land where they were strangers could not support them because of their livestock. 8 So Esau dwelt in (J)Mount Seir. (K)Esau is Edom.
9 And this is the genealogy of Esau the father of the Edomites in Mount Seir. 10 These were the names of Esau’s sons: (L)Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, and Reuel the son of Basemath the wife of Esau. 11 And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, [c]Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 Now Timna was the concubine of Eliphaz, Esau’s son, and she bore (M)Amalek to Eliphaz. These were the sons of Adah, Esau’s wife.
13 These were the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These were the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife.
14 These were the sons of [d]Aholibamah, Esau’s wife, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon. And she bore to Esau: Jeush, Jaalam, and Korah.
The Chiefs of Edom
15 These were the chiefs of the sons of Esau. The sons of Eliphaz, the firstborn son of Esau, were Chief Teman, Chief Omar, Chief Zepho, Chief Kenaz, 16 [e]Chief Korah, Chief Gatam, and Chief Amalek. These were the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom. They were the sons of Adah.
17 These were the sons of Reuel, Esau’s son: Chief Nahath, Chief Zerah, Chief Shammah, and Chief Mizzah. These were the chiefs of Reuel in the land of Edom. These were the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife.
18 And these were the sons of [f]Aholibamah, Esau’s wife: Chief Jeush, Chief Jaalam, and Chief Korah. These were the chiefs who descended from Aholibamah, Esau’s wife, the daughter of Anah. 19 These were the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these were their chiefs.
The Sons of Seir
20 (N)These were the sons of Seir (O)the Horite who inhabited the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, 21 Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. These were the chiefs of the Horites, the sons of Seir, in the land of Edom.
22 And the sons of Lotan were Hori and [g]Hemam. Lotan’s sister was Timna.
23 These were the sons of Shobal: [h]Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, [i]Shepho, and Onam.
24 These were the sons of Zibeon: both Ajah and Anah. This was the Anah who found the [j]water in the wilderness as he pastured (P)the donkeys of his father Zibeon. 25 These were the children of Anah: Dishon and [k]Aholibamah the daughter of Anah.
26 These were the sons of [l]Dishon: [m]Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran. 27 These were the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and [n]Akan. 28 These were the sons of Dishan: (Q)Uz and Aran.
29 These were the chiefs of the Horites: Chief Lotan, Chief Shobal, Chief Zibeon, Chief Anah, 30 Chief Dishon, Chief Ezer, and Chief Dishan. These were the chiefs of the Horites, according to their chiefs in the land of Seir.
The Kings of Edom
31 (R)Now these were the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel: 32 Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom, and the name of his city was Dinhabah. 33 And when Bela died, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place. 34 When Jobab died, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place. 35 And when Husham died, Hadad the son of Bedad, who attacked Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place. And the name of his city was Avith. 36 When Hadad died, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place. 37 And when Samlah died, Saul of (S)Rehoboth-by-the-River reigned in his place. 38 When Saul died, Baal-Hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place. 39 And when Baal-Hanan the son of Achbor died, [o]Hadar reigned in his place; and the name of his city was [p]Pau. The Chiefs of Esau
40 And these were the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their families and their places, by their names: Chief Timnah, Chief [q]Alvah, Chief Jetheth, 41 Chief [r]Aholibamah, Chief Elah, Chief Pinon, 42 Chief Kenaz, Chief Teman, Chief Mibzar, 43 Chief Magdiel, and Chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their dwelling places in the land of their possession. Esau was the father of [s]the Edomites.
