⁸thinking, “If Esau comes to the one camp and attacks it, then the camp that is left will escape.”

⁹And Jacob said, ^(A)“O God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, O Lord who ^(B)said to me, ‘Return to your country and to your kindred, that I may do you good,’ ¹⁰^(C)I am not worthy of the least of all the deeds of steadfast love and all the faithfulness that you have shown to your servant, for with only my staff I crossed this Jordan, and now I have become two camps.

⁸He thought, “If Esau comes and attacks one group,^[a] the group^[b] that is left may escape.”

⁹Then Jacob prayed, “O God of my father Abraham,^(A) God of my father Isaac,^(B) Lord, you who said to me, ‘Go back to your country and your relatives, and I will make you prosper,’^(C) ¹⁰I am unworthy of all the kindness and faithfulness^(D) you have shown your servant. I had only my staff^(E) when I crossed this Jordan, but now I have become two camps.^(F)
