¹⁶ To the woman He said,

¹⁹ For I have ^[a](A)known him, so that he may ^(B)command his children and his household after him, ^(C)that they keep the way of Yahweh to do righteousness and justice, so that Yahweh may bring upon Abraham ^(D)what He has spoken about him.”

²⁰ And the king’s sentence, which he will make, will be heard throughout all his kingdom, for it is ^[a]vast, and ^(A)all women will give respect to their husbands, great and small.”

²² So he sent letters to all the king’s provinces, ^(A)to each province according to its script and to every people according to their tongue, that every man should ^(B)be the ruler in his own house and the one who speaks in the tongue of his own people.

³ But I want you to understand that ^[a]Christ is the ^(A)head of every man, and ^(B)the man is the head of a woman, and God is the ^(C)head of ^[b]Christ.

⁷ For a man ought not to have his head covered, since he is the ^(A)image and glory of God, but the woman is the glory of man. ⁸ For ^(B)man ^[a]does not originate from woman, but woman from man. ⁹ For indeed man was not created for the woman’s sake, but ^(C)woman for the man’s sake.
