Jacob Takes Esau’s Blessing

³⁴ When Esau was forty years old,^(A) he married Judith daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and also Basemath daughter of Elon the Hittite.^{(B) 35} They were a source of grief to Isaac and Rebekah.^(C)

²⁰ Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn^(A) while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.^(B)

⁶ In all this you greatly rejoice,^(A) though now for a little while^(B) you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.^(C)
