⁸ He said to them, “If you are willing to let me bury my dead, then listen to me and intercede with Ephron son of Zohar^(A) on my behalf

³⁰ The next day Moses said to the people, “You have committed a great sin.^(A) But now I will go up to the Lord; perhaps I can make atonement^(B) for your sin.”

³¹ So Moses went back to the Lord and said, “Oh, what a great sin these people have committed!^(C) They have made themselves gods of gold.^(D)

²² The men^(A) turned away and went toward Sodom,^(B) but Abraham remained standing before the Lord.^{[a](C) 23} Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked?^{(D) 24} What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare^[b] the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it?^(E)

¹² Then he continued, “Do not be afraid,^(A) Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble^(B) yourself before your God, your words^(C) were heard, and I have come in response to them.^(D)
