²⁷ So God created man ^(A)in His own image, in the image of God He created him; ^(B)male and female He created them.

Descendants of Adam

5 This is the book of the generations of Adam. On the day when God created man, He made him ^(A)in the likeness of God. ² He created them ^(B)male and female, and He ^(C)blessed them and named them “mankind” on the day when they were created.

⁷ For a man should not have his head covered, since he is the ^(A)image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.

²⁰ But you did not ^(A)learn Christ in this way, ²¹ if indeed you ^(B)have heard Him and have ^(C)been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, ²² that, in reference to your former way of life, you are to ^(D)rid yourselves of the ^(E)old ^[a]self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the ^(F)lusts of deceit, ²³ and that you are to be ^(G)renewed in the spirit of your minds, ²⁴ and to ^(H)put on the ^(I)new ^[b]self, which ^[c](J)in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

^9 [a](A)Do not lie to one another, since you ^(B)stripped off the old ^[b]self with its evil practices, ¹⁰ and have ^(C)put on the new self, which is being ^[c](D)renewed to a true knowledge ^(E)according to the image of the One who ^(F)created it— ¹¹ a renewal in which ^(G)there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, ^(H)circumcised and uncircumcised, ^[d](I)barbarian, ^[e]Scythian, ^(J)slave, and free, but ^(K)Christ is all, and in all.
