² The earth was ^(A)without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

³ And God said, ^(B)“Let there be light,” and there was light. ⁴ And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. ⁵ God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

⁷ then the Lord God formed the man of ^(A)dust from the ground and ^(B)breathed into his ^(C)nostrils the breath of life, and ^(D)the man became a living creature.

⁴ But^[a] God, being ^(A)rich in mercy, ^(B)because of the great love with which he loved us, ⁵ even ^(C)when we were dead in our trespasses, ^(D)made us alive together with Christ—^(E)by grace you have been saved— ⁶ and raised us up with him and ^(F)seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, ⁷ so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable ^(G)riches of his grace in ^(H)kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. ⁸ For ^(I)by grace you have been saved ^(J)through faith. And this is ^(K)not your own doing; ^(L)it is the gift of God, ^9 (M)not a result of works, ^(N)so that no one may boast. ¹⁰ For ^(O)we are his workmanship, ^(P)created in Christ Jesus ^(Q)for good works, ^(R)which God prepared beforehand, ^(S)that we should walk in them.
