²⁶ So Joseph died at the age of 110 years; and ^(A)they embalmed him, and he was placed in a coffin in Egypt.

¹⁴ And they buried him in his own tomb which he had ^[a]cut out for himself in the city of David, and they laid him in the resting place which he had filled ^(A)with spices of various kinds blended by the perfumers’ art; and ^(B)they made a very great fire for him.

¹² For when she poured this perfume on My body, she did it ^(A)to prepare Me for burial.

Jesus Is Risen!

16 ^(A)And when the Sabbath passed, ^(B)Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, ^(C)bought spices, so that they might come and anoint Him.

^39 (A)And Nicodemus, who had first come to Him by night, also came, ^(B)bringing a ^[a]mixture of ^(C)myrrh and aloes, weighing about ^[b]one ^(D)hundred litras. ⁴⁰ So they took the body of Jesus and ^(E)bound it in ^(F)linen wrappings with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews.
