²⁹ Now he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will ^[a]give us rest from our work and from the pain of our hands arising from ^(A)the ground which Yahweh has cursed.”

²⁰ For the creation ^(A)was subjected to ^(B)futility, not willingly, but ^(C)because of Him who subjected it, in hope ^21 [a]that ^(D)the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. ²² For we know that the whole creation ^(E)groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.

⁸ but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is unfit and ^(A)close ^[a]to being cursed, and its end is to be burned.
