¹⁹ For I have ^[a](A)known him, so that he may ^(B)command his children and his household after him, ^(C)that they keep the way of Yahweh to do righteousness and justice, so that Yahweh may bring upon Abraham ^(D)what He has spoken about him.”

¹⁰ Remember the day you stood before Yahweh your God at Horeb, when Yahweh said to me, ‘Assemble the people to Me, that I may cause them to hear My words ^(A)so they may learn to ^[a]fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may ^(B)teach their children.’

^7 (A)You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.

²⁰ “^(A)When your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What do the testimonies and the statutes and the judgments mean which Yahweh our God commanded you?’ ²¹ then you shall say to your son, ‘We were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt, and Yahweh brought us from Egypt with a strong hand. ²² Moreover, Yahweh showed great and calamitous signs and wonders before our eyes against Egypt, Pharaoh, and all his household; ²³ But He brought us out from there in order to bring us in, to give us the land which He had sworn to our fathers.’ ²⁴ So Yahweh commanded us to do all these statutes, ^(B)to fear Yahweh our God for our good all our days and ^(C)for our survival, as it is today. ^25 (D)And it will be righteousness for us if we ^[a]are careful to do all this commandment before Yahweh our God, just as He commanded us.

^19 (A)And you shall teach them to your sons, speaking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up.

⁴⁶ and he said to them, “^(A)Place in your heart all the words with which I am warning you today, which you shall command ^(B)your sons to be careful to do, even all the words of this law.

^4 (A)Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but ^(B)bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
