⁷ Now ^(A)the angel of Yahweh found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to ^(B)Shur. ⁸ And he said, “Hagar, Sarai’s servant-woman, ^(C)where have you come from and where are you going?” And she said, “I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai.” ⁹ Then the angel of Yahweh said to her, “Return to your mistress and ^[a]humble yourself under her hands.” ¹⁰ Moreover, the ^(D)angel of Yahweh said to her, “^(E)I will greatly multiply your seed so that ^[b]they will be too many to be counted.” ¹¹ And the angel of Yahweh said to her further,

¹⁷ Then God ^(A)heard the voice of the boy crying; and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What is the matter with you, Hagar? ^(B)Do not fear, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he is. ¹⁸ Arise, lift up the boy, and hold him by ^[a]the hand, ^(C)for I will make a great nation of him.”
