The Hamites(A)

The sons of Ham were

Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.

The sons of Cush were

Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteka;

and the sons of Raamah were

Sheba and Dedan.

Cush was the father of Nimrod. He became a mighty one on the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord. Therefore it is said, “Even like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.” 10 The beginning of his kingdom was Babel,[a] Uruk, Akkad, and Kalneh in the land of Shinar. 11 From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, the city Rehoboth Ir, and Calah, 12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (that is the principal city).

13 Egypt was the father of

the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites, Naphtuhites, 14 Pathrusites, Kasluhites (from whom came the Philistines), and Caphtorites.

15 Canaan was the father of

Sidon his firstborn and Heth, 16 and the Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, 17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, 18 Arvadites, Zemarites, and the Hamathites.

Later the families of the Canaanites spread abroad. 19 The border of the Canaanites was from Sidon toward Gerar to Gaza, and then to Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboyim, as far as Lasha.

20 These are the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their languages, in their lands and in their nations.
