³ They took 40 days to complete this, for embalming takes that long, and the Egyptians mourned for him 70 days.^(A)

²⁹ When the whole community saw that Aaron had passed away, the entire house of Israel mourned for him 30 days.

⁵ So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, as the Lord had said. ⁶ He buried him^[a] in the valley^(A) in the land of Moab facing Beth-peor, and no one to this day knows where his grave is.^{(B) 7} Moses was 120 years old when he died; his eyes were not weak, and his vitality had not left him. ⁸ The Israelites wept for Moses in the plains of Moab 30 days. Then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses came to an end.

¹¹ if you see a beautiful woman among the captives, desire her, and want to take her as your wife, ¹² you are to bring her into your house. She must shave her head, trim her nails, ¹³ remove the clothes she was wearing when she was taken prisoner, live in your house, and mourn for her father and mother a full month. After that, you may have sexual relations with her and be her husband, and she will be your wife.
