^11 (A)There I will provide for you, for there are yet five years of famine to come, so that you and your household, and all that you have, do not come to poverty.’

¹² And Joseph ^(A)provided his father, his brothers, and all his father's household with food, according to the number of their dependents.

⁵ But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,”^{[a] 6} he need not honor his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition you have ^(A)made void the word^[b] of God.

⁶ The land of Egypt is before you. Settle your father and your brothers ^(A)in the best of the land. ^(B)Let them settle in the land of Goshen, and if you know any ^(C)able men among them, put them in charge of my livestock.”

⁴ But if a widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn ^(A)to show godliness to their own household and to make some return to their parents, for ^(B)this is pleasing in the sight of God.

⁹ And he said to them, “You have a fine way of ^(A)rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition! ¹⁰ For Moses said, ^(B)‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ^(C)‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ ¹¹ But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban”’ (that is, given to God)^[a]— ¹² then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother,
