¹² But ^(A)you said, ‘I will surely do you good, and make your offspring as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.’”

¹³ And behold, ^(A)the Lord stood above it^[a] and said, ^(B)“I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. ^(C)The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring. ¹⁴ Your offspring shall be like ^(D)the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south, and in you and ^(E)your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed. ¹⁵ Behold, ^(F)I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and ^(G)will bring you back to this land. For I will ^(H)not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

¹⁷ So when God desired to show more convincingly to ^(A)the heirs of the promise ^(B)the unchangeable character of his purpose, ^(C)he guaranteed it with an oath,

^2 (A)in hope of eternal life, which God, ^(B)who never lies, ^(C)promised ^(D)before the ages began^[a]

for ^(C)he cannot deny himself.

^35 (A)Heaven and earth will pass away, but ^(B)my words will not pass away.

²⁹ And also the Glory of Israel ^(A)will not lie or have regret, for he is not a man, that he should have regret.”

¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you ^(A)swore by your own self, and said to them, ^(B)‘I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have promised I will give to your offspring, and they shall inherit it forever.’”
