⁴⁸ And Laban said, ^(A)“This heap is a witness between you and me this day.” Therefore its name was called Galeed,

²⁷ And Joshua said to all the people, “Behold, this stone shall be ^(A)a witness to us, for ^(B)it has heard all the words of the Lord which He spoke to us. It shall therefore be a witness to you, lest you deny your God.”

The Land Divided East of the Jordan

⁸ With the other half-tribe the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, ^(A)which Moses had given them, ^(B)beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses the servant of the Lord had given them: ⁹ from Aroer which is on the bank of the River Arnon, and the town that is in the midst of the ravine, ^(C)and all the plain of Medeba as far as Dibon;

¹⁶ And to the Reubenites ^(A)and the Gadites I gave from Gilead as far as the River Arnon, the middle of the river as the border, as far as the River Jabbok, ^(B)the border of the people of Ammon;

^36 (A)From Aroer, which is on the bank of the River Arnon, and from ^(B)the city that is in the ravine, as far as Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us; ^(C)the Lord our God delivered all to us.

²³ Then he took ^(A)his brethren with him and pursued him for seven days’ journey, and he overtook him in the mountains of Gilead.
