²² Then the Lord God said, ^(A)“Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand ^(B)and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—”

^7 (A)He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. ^(B)To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of ^(C)the tree of life, which is in ^(D)the paradise of God.’

¹⁴ Blessed are those who ^(A)wash their robes,^[a] so that they may have the right to ^(B)the tree of life and that ^(C)they may enter the city by the gates.

⁶ And the Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. ⁷ Come, ^(A)let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another's speech.”

² through the middle of ^(A)the street of the city; ^(B)also, on either side of the river, ^(C)the tree of life^[a] with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were ^(D)for the healing of the nations.

⁹ And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. ^(A)The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, ^(B)and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

²⁶ Then God said, ^(A)“Let us make man^[a] in our image, ^(B)after our likeness. And ^(C)let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

^48 (A)I am the bread of life. ^49 (B)Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and ^(C)they died. ^50 (D)This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it ^(E)and not die. ⁵¹ I am the living bread ^(F)that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give ^(G)for the life of the world is ^(H)my flesh.”

⁵² The Jews then ^(I)disputed among themselves, saying, ^(J)“How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” ⁵³ So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of ^(K)the Son of Man and drink his blood, you ^(L)have no life in you. ⁵⁴ Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood ^(M)has eternal life, and ^(N)I will raise him up on the last day. ⁵⁵ For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. ⁵⁶ Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood ^(O)abides in me, and I in him. ⁵⁷ As ^(P)the living Father ^(Q)sent me, and ^(R)I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. ^58 (S)This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread^[a] the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”
