¹⁸ So early in the morning Jacob took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up ^(A)for a pillar ^(B)and poured oil on the top of it.

¹⁴ And Jacob ^(A)set up a pillar in the place where he had spoken with him, a pillar of stone. He poured out a drink offering on it and poured oil on it.

⁴⁵ So Jacob ^(A)took a stone and set it up as a pillar.

^10 (A)Then Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and consecrated them. ¹¹ And he sprinkled some of it on the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all its utensils and the basin and its stand, to consecrate them. ¹² And ^(B)he poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron's head and anointed him to consecrate him.

²⁰ and Jacob set up a pillar over her tomb. It is ^(A)the pillar of Rachel's tomb, which is there to this day.

¹³ I am the God of Bethel, ^(A)where you anointed a pillar and made a vow to me. Now ^(B)arise, go out from this land and return to the land of your kindred.’”

¹⁹ In that day there will be an ^(A)altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a ^(B)pillar to the Lord at its border.

¹⁰ Whatever your hand finds to do, ^(A)do it with your might,^{[a] (B)}for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.

¹⁸ Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and set up for himself ^(A)the pillar that is in ^(B)the King's Valley, for he said, ^(C)“I have no son to keep my name in remembrance.” He called the pillar after his own name, and it is called Absalom's monument^[a] to this day.
