¹² And He said, ^(A)“Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for ^(B)now I know that you fear God, since you have not ^(C)withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”

²¹ Was not Abraham our father justified by works ^(A)when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? ²² Do you see ^(B)that faith was working together with his works, and by ^(C)works faith was made ^[a]perfect?

¹⁸ But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” ^(A)Show me your faith without ^[a]your works, ^(B)and I will show you my faith by ^[b]my works.

²² So Samuel said:

^32 (A)He who did not spare His own Son, but ^(B)delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

^5 (A)because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.”

¹³ No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but ^(A)God is faithful, ^(B)who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to ^[a]bear it.

^37 (A)He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. ^38 (B)And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

⁸ But ^(A)God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
