³ And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him—whom Sarah bore to him—^(A)Isaac.^[a]

¹⁹ Then God said: “No, ^(A)Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My ^(B)covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.

^7 (A)nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, ^(B)“In Isaac your seed shall be called.”

⁶ And Sarah said, ^(A)“God has ^[a]made me laugh, and all who hear ^(B)will laugh with me.”

^18 [a]of whom it was said, ^(A)“In Isaac your seed shall be called,”

^2 (A)Abraham begot Isaac, ^(B)Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot ^(C)Judah and his brothers.

^3 (A)Then I took your father Abraham from the other side of ^[a]the River, led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his ^[b]descendants and ^(B)gave him Isaac.

^8 (A)Then He gave him the covenant of circumcision; ^(B)and so Abraham begot Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day; ^(C)and Isaac begot Jacob, and ^(D)Jacob begot the twelve patriarchs.

² Then He said, “Take now your son, ^(A)your only son Isaac, whom you ^(B)love, and go ^(C)to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a ^(D)burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”
