A Covenant with Abimelech

²² And it came to pass at that time that ^(A)Abimelech and Phichol, the commander of his army, spoke to Abraham, saying, ^(B)“God is with you in all that you do.

²⁶ Then Abimelech came to him from Gerar with Ahuzzath, one of his friends, ^(A)and Phichol the commander of his army.

²⁸ But they said, “We have certainly seen that the Lord ^(A)is with you. So we said, ‘Let there now be an oath between us, between you and us; and let us make a ^[a]covenant with you,

² Now Abraham said of Sarah his wife, ^(A)“She is my sister.” And Abimelech king of Gerar sent and ^(B)took Sarah.

⁹ Indeed I will make ^(A)those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed ^(B)I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.

⁵ Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ^(A)“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

^25 [a]And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report ^(A)that God is truly among you.

God’s Everlasting Love

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? ^(A)If God is for us, who can be against us?

^23 (A)“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
