¹⁴ So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, ^(A)who had married his daughters, and said, ^(B)“Get up, get out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city!” ^(C)But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be joking.

^21 (A)“Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may ^(B)consume them in a moment.”

⁴⁵ “Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.”

And they fell on their faces.

²⁶ And he spoke to the congregation, saying, ^(A)“Depart now from the tents of these wicked men! Touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins.”

²¹ But he who did not regard the word of the Lord left his servants and his livestock in the field.

⁴ And I heard another voice from heaven saying, ^(A)“Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. ^5 (B)For her sins ^[a]have reached to heaven, and ^(C)God has remembered her iniquities. ^6 (D)Render to her just as she rendered ^[b]to you, and repay her double according to her works; ^(E)in the cup which she has mixed, ^(F)mix double for her. ^7 (G)In the measure that she glorified herself and lived ^[c]luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as ^(H)queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’ ⁸ Therefore her plagues will come ^(I)in one day—death and mourning and famine. And ^(J)she will be utterly burned with fire, ^(K)for strong is the Lord God who ^[d]judges her.

³ For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then ^(A)sudden destruction comes upon them, ^(B)as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

³² And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, “We will hear you again on this matter.”
