¹⁰ This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised.

¹¹ In him also ^(A)you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by ^(B)putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, ^12 (C)having been buried with him in baptism, in which ^(D)you were also raised with him through faith in ^(E)the powerful working of God, ^(F)who raised him from the dead.

⁹ Is this blessing then only for ^(A)the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? ^(B)For we say that faith was counted to Abraham as righteousness. ¹⁰ How then was it counted to him? Was it before or after he had been circumcised? It was not after, but before he was circumcised. ^11 (C)He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was ^(D)to make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness would be counted to them as well,

⁸ And ^(A)he gave him the covenant of circumcision. And ^(B)so Abraham became the father of Isaac, and ^(C)circumcised him on the eighth day, and ^(D)Isaac became the father of Jacob, and ^(E)Jacob of the twelve patriarchs.

³ For ^(A)we are the circumcision, ^(B)who worship ^(C)by the Spirit of God^[a] and ^(D)glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh—

³ I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that ^(A)he is obligated to keep the whole law. ⁴ You are ^(B)severed from Christ, ^(C)you who would be justified^[a] by the law; ^(D)you have fallen away from grace. ⁵ For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly ^(E)wait for the hope of righteousness. ⁶ For in Christ Jesus ^(F)neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but ^(G)only faith working through love.

¹⁸ Was anyone at the time of his call already circumcised? Let him not seek to remove the marks of circumcision. Was anyone at the time of his call uncircumcised? ^(A)Let him not seek circumcision. ^19 (B)For neither circumcision counts for anything nor uncircumcision, but ^(C)keeping the commandments of God.

³⁰ since ^(A)God is one—who will justify the circumcised by faith and ^(B)the uncircumcised through faith.

² At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make ^(A)flint knives and circumcise the sons of Israel a second time.”
