¹⁸ On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram^(A) and said, “To your descendants I give this land,^(B) from the Wadi^[a] of Egypt^(C) to the great river, the Euphrates^(D)—

⁷ The Lord appeared to Abram^(A) and said, “To your offspring^[a] I will give this land.^(B)”^(C) So he built an altar there to the Lord,^(D) who had appeared to him.

²¹ And Solomon ruled^(A) over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates River^(B) to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt.^(C) These countries brought tribute^(D) and were Solomon’s subjects all his life.

³ I will give you every place where you set your foot,^(A) as I promised Moses.^{(B) 4} Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon,^(C) and from the great river, the Euphrates^(D)—all the Hittite^(E) country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.^(F)

⁴ Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land I promised on oath^(A) to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob^(B) when I said, ‘I will give it^(C) to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross^(D) over into it.”

²⁴ Every place where you set your foot will be yours:^(A) Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River^(B) to the Mediterranean Sea.

⁷ Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites;^(A) go to all the neighboring peoples in the Arabah,^(B) in the mountains, in the western foothills, in the Negev^(C) and along the coast, to the land of the Canaanites^(D) and to Lebanon,^(E) as far as the great river, the Euphrates.^{(F) 8} See, I have given you this land^(G).^(H) Go in and take possession of the land the Lord swore^(I) he would give to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—and to their descendants after them.”
