¹⁰ and have put on the new self,^(A) which is being renewed^(B) in knowledge in the image of its Creator.^(C)

²⁴ and to put on^(A) the new self,^(B) created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.^(C)

²² And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us,^(A) knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life^(B) and eat, and live forever.”

¹⁸ And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate^[a](A) the Lord’s glory,^(B) are being transformed into his image^(C) with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

⁹ With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness.^(A)

² The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.^{(A) 3} Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you.^(B) Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.^(C)

⁴ “But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.^(D)
