The Promise of God’s Presence

12 Then Moses said to the Lord, “See, (A)You say to me, ‘Bring up this people.’ But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, (B)‘I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.’ 13 Now therefore, I pray, (C)if I have found grace in Your sight, (D)show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. 17 So the Lord said to Moses, (K)“I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.”

Moses and the Glory of the Lord

12 Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’(A) but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Remember that this nation is your people.”(E)

14 The Lord replied, “My Presence(F) will go with you, and I will give you rest.”(G)

15 Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence(H) does not go with us, do not send us up from here. 16 How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us?(I) What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”(J)

17 And the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked,(K) because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.”(L)
