^10 (A)You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near to me, you and your children, your children’s children, your flocks and your herds, and all that you have.

^26 (A)Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail.

²² And in that day ^(A)I will set apart the land of ^(B)Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, in order that you may ^(C)know that I am the Lord in the midst of the ^(D)land.

^24 (A)“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; ^(B)for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

³⁴ that you shall say, ‘Your servants’ ^(A)occupation has been with livestock ^(B)from our youth even till now, both we and also our fathers,’ that you may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is ^(C)an^[a] abomination to the Egyptians.”

Joseph Is Governor of Egypt

47 Then Joseph ^(D)went and told Pharaoh, and said, “My father and my brothers, their flocks and their herds and all that they possess, have come from the land of Canaan; and indeed they are in ^(E)the land of Goshen.” ² And he took five men from among his brothers and ^(F)presented them to Pharaoh. ³ Then Pharaoh said to his brothers, ^(G)“What is your occupation?”

And they said to Pharaoh, ^(H)“Your servants are shepherds, both we and also our fathers.” ⁴ And they said to Pharaoh, ^(I)“We have come to dwell in the land, because your servants have no pasture for their flocks, ^(J)for the famine is severe in the land of Canaan. Now therefore, please let your servants ^(K)dwell in the land of Goshen.”

⁵ Then Pharaoh spoke to Joseph, saying, “Your father and your brothers have come to you. ^6 (L)The land of Egypt is before you. Have your father and brothers dwell in the best of the land; let them dwell ^(M)in the land of Goshen. And if you know any competent men among them, then make them chief herdsmen over my livestock.”
