²² And in that day ^(A)I will set apart the land of ^(B)Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, in order that you may ^(C)know that I am the Lord in the midst of the ^(D)land.

²³ I will ^[a]make a difference between My people and your people. Tomorrow this ^(A)sign shall be.” ’ ”

⁴ And ^(A)the Lord will make a difference between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt. So nothing shall die of all that belongs to the children of Israel.” ’ ”

⁶ So the Lord did this thing on the next day, and ^(A)all the livestock of Egypt died; but of the livestock of the children of Israel, not one died.

²³ They did not see one another; nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. ^(A)But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

^7 (A)But against none of the children of Israel ^(B)shall a dog ^[a]move its tongue, against man or beast, that you may know that the Lord does make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.’

¹³ Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
