⁹ Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”

⁹ Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?”

He said, ^(A)“I do not know. Am I ^(B)my brother’s keeper?”

²⁰ And the Lord said, “Because ^(A)the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their ^(B)sin is very grave, ^21 (C)I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, ^(D)I will know.”

¹⁷ He brought the clan of Judah, and he took the family of the Zarhites; and he brought the family of the Zarhites man by man, and Zabdi was taken. ¹⁸ Then he brought his household man by man, and Achan the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, ^(A)was taken.

¹⁹ Now Joshua said to Achan, “My son, I beg you, ^(B)give glory to the Lord God of Israel, ^(C)and make confession to Him, and ^(D)tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me.”

⁸ And He said, “Hagar, Sarai’s maid, where have you come from, and where are you going?”

She said, “I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai.”
