Galatians 6 - Ephesians 3
English Standard Version
Bear One Another's Burdens
6 Brothers,[a] (A)if anyone is caught in any transgression, (B)you who are spiritual should restore him in (C)a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. 2 (D)Bear one another's burdens, and (E)so fulfill (F)the law of Christ. 3 For (G)if anyone thinks he is something, (H)when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one (I)test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. 5 For (J)each will have to bear his own load.
6 (K)Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. 7 (L)Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for (M)whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8 For (N)the one who sows to his own flesh (O)will from the flesh reap corruption, but (P)the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 And (Q)let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, (R)if we do not give up. 10 So then, (S)as we have opportunity, let us (T)do good to everyone, and especially to those who are (U)of the household of faith.
Final Warning and Benediction
11 See with what large letters I am writing to you (V)with my own hand. 12 (W)It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh (X)who would force you to be circumcised, and only (Y)in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. 13 For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. 14 But far be it from me to boast (Z)except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which[b] the world (AA)has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15 For (AB)neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but (AC)a new creation. 16 And as for all who walk by this rule, (AD)peace and mercy be upon them, and upon (AE)the Israel of God.
17 From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.
2 (AK)Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Spiritual Blessings in Christ
3 (AL)Blessed be (AM)the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing (AN)in the heavenly places, 4 (AO)even as he (AP)chose us in him (AQ)before the foundation of the world, that we should be (AR)holy and blameless before him. In love 5 (AS)he predestined us[d] for (AT)adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, (AU)according to the purpose of his will, 6 (AV)to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in (AW)the Beloved. 7 (AX)In him we have (AY)redemption (AZ)through his blood, (BA)the forgiveness of our trespasses, (BB)according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 (BC)making known[e] to us the mystery of his will, (BD)according to his purpose, which he (BE)set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for (BF)the fullness of time, (BG)to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
11 In him we have obtained (BH)an inheritance, (BI)having been predestined (BJ)according to the purpose of him who works all things according to (BK)the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be (BL)to the praise of his glory. 13 In him you also, when you heard (BM)the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, (BN)were sealed with the (BO)promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is (BP)the guarantee[f] of our (BQ)inheritance until (BR)we acquire (BS)possession of it,[g] (BT)to the praise of his glory.
Thanksgiving and Prayer
15 For this reason, (BU)because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love[h] toward all the saints, 16 I (BV)do not cease to give thanks for you, (BW)remembering you in my prayers, 17 that (BX)the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, (BY)may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 (BZ)having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is (CA)the hope to which he has called you, what are (CB)the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, (CC)according to the working of (CD)his great might 20 that he worked in Christ (CE)when he raised him from the dead and (CF)seated him at his right hand (CG)in the heavenly places, 21 (CH)far above (CI)all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above (CJ)every name that is named, not only in (CK)this age but also in the one to come. 22 And (CL)he put all things under his feet and gave him as (CM)head over all things to the church, 23 (CN)which is his body, (CO)the fullness of him (CP)who fills (CQ)all in all.
By Grace Through Faith
2 (CR)And you were (CS)dead in the trespasses and sins 2 (CT)in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following (CU)the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in (CV)the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in (CW)the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body[i] and the mind, and (CX)were by nature (CY)children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.[j] 4 But[k] God, being (CZ)rich in mercy, (DA)because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even (DB)when we were dead in our trespasses, (DC)made us alive together with Christ—(DD)by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and (DE)seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable (DF)riches of his grace in (DG)kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For (DH)by grace you have been saved (DI)through faith. And this is (DJ)not your own doing; (DK)it is the gift of God, 9 (DL)not a result of works, (DM)so that no one may boast. 10 For (DN)we are his workmanship, (DO)created in Christ Jesus (DP)for good works, (DQ)which God prepared beforehand, (DR)that we should walk in them.
One in Christ
11 Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called (DS)the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands— 12 remember (DT)that you were at that time separated from Christ, (DU)alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to (DV)the covenants of promise, (DW)having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were (DX)far off have been brought near (DY)by the blood of Christ. 14 For (DZ)he himself is our peace, (EA)who has made us both one and has broken down (EB)in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility 15 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in (EC)ordinances, that he might create in himself one (ED)new man in place of the two, so making peace, 16 and might (EE)reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. 17 And he came and (EF)preached peace to you who were (EG)far off and peace to those who were (EH)near. 18 For (EI)through him we both have (EJ)access in (EK)one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then you are no longer (EL)strangers and aliens,[l] but you are (EM)fellow citizens with the saints and (EN)members of the household of God, 20 (EO)built on the foundation of the (EP)apostles and prophets, (EQ)Christ Jesus himself being (ER)the cornerstone, 21 (ES)in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into (ET)a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him (EU)you also are being built together (EV)into a dwelling place for God by[m] the Spirit.
The Mystery of the Gospel Revealed
3 For this reason I, Paul, (EW)a prisoner of Christ Jesus (EX)on behalf of you Gentiles— 2 assuming that you have heard of (EY)the stewardship of (EZ)God's grace that was given to me for you, 3 (FA)how the mystery was made known to me (FB)by revelation, (FC)as I have written briefly. 4 (FD)When you read this, you can perceive my insight into (FE)the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. 6 This mystery is[n] that the Gentiles are (FF)fellow heirs, (FG)members of the same body, and (FH)partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.
7 (FI)Of this gospel I was made (FJ)a minister according to the gift of (FK)God's grace, which was given me (FL)by the working of his power. 8 To me, (FM)though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, (FN)to preach to the Gentiles the (FO)unsearchable (FP)riches of Christ, 9 and (FQ)to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery (FR)hidden for ages in[o] God, (FS)who created all things, 10 so that through the church the manifold (FT)wisdom of God (FU)might now be made known to (FV)the rulers and authorities (FW)in the heavenly places. 11 This was (FX)according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have (FY)boldness and (FZ)access with (GA)confidence through our (GB)faith in him. 13 So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering (GC)for you, (GD)which is your glory.
Prayer for Spiritual Strength
14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom (GE)every family[p] in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to (GF)the riches of his glory (GG)he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit (GH)in your inner being, 17 (GI)so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being (GJ)rooted and (GK)grounded in love, 18 may have strength to (GL)comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and (GM)height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ (GN)that surpasses knowledge, that (GO)you may be filled with all (GP)the fullness of God.
20 (GQ)Now to (GR)him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, (GS)according to the power at work within us, 21 (GT)to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
