²² But ^(A)the fruit of the Spirit is ^(B)love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness, ^(C)self-control; against such things ^(D)there is no law.

^6 (A)See that no one deceives you with empty words, for because of these things ^(B)the wrath of God comes upon ^(C)the ^[a]sons of disobedience. ⁷ Therefore do not become ^(D)partners with them; ⁸ for ^(E)you were once ^(F)darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as ^(G)children of light ⁹ (for ^(H)the fruit of the light consists in all ^(I)goodness, righteousness, and truth), ^10 [b](J)as you try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.

⁹ And this I pray, that ^(A)your love may overflow still more and more in ^(B)real knowledge and all discernment, ¹⁰ so that you may ^[a](C)discover the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and blameless for ^(D)the day of Christ; ¹¹ having been filled with the ^(E)fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God.

⁷ It is for discipline that you endure; ^(A)God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? ⁸ But if you are without discipline, ^(B)of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. ⁹ Furthermore, we had ^[a]earthly fathers to discipline us, and we ^(C)respected them; shall we not much more be subject to ^(D)the Father of ^[b]spirits, and ^(E)live? ¹⁰ For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, ^(F)so that we may share His holiness. ^11 (G)For the moment, all discipline seems not to be pleasant, but painful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterward it yields the ^(H)peaceful fruit of righteousness.

¹² Therefore, ^[c](I)strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble, ¹³ and ^(J)make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is impaired may not be dislocated, but rather ^(K)be healed.

Wisdom from Above

¹³ Who among you is wise and understanding? ^(A)Let him show by his ^(B)good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. ¹⁴ But if you have bitter ^(C)jealousy and ^[a]selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against ^(D)the truth. ¹⁵ This wisdom is not that which comes down ^(E)from above, but is ^(F)earthly, ^[b](G)natural, ^(H)demonic. ¹⁶ For where ^(I)jealousy and ^[c]selfish ambition exist, ^[d]there is disorder and every evil thing. ¹⁷ But the wisdom ^(J)from above is first ^(K)pure, then ^(L)peace-loving, ^(M)gentle, ^[e]reasonable, ^(N)full of mercy and good fruits, ^[f](O)impartial, free of ^(P)hypocrisy. ¹⁸ And the ^(Q)fruit of righteousness is sown in peace ^[g]by those who make peace.
