¹⁹ Now ^(A)the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,

⁹ Or do you not know that the unrighteous^[a] will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: ^(A)neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,^{[b] 10} nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

^2 (A)so as to live for ^(B)the rest of the time in the flesh ^(C)no longer for human passions but ^(D)for the will of God. ³ For the time that is past ^(E)suffices ^(F)for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. ⁴ With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of ^(G)debauchery, and ^(H)they malign you;

¹⁸ But ^(A)what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. ¹⁹ For out of the heart come ^(B)evil thoughts, ^(C)murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, ^(D)slander.

^5 (A)Put to death therefore ^(B)what is earthly in you:^{[a] (C)}sexual immorality, impurity, ^(D)passion, evil desire, and covetousness, ^(E)which is idolatry. ^6 (F)On account of these the wrath of God is coming.^{[b] 7 (G)}In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. ⁸ But now ^(H)you must put them all away: ^(I)anger, wrath, malice, ^(J)slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.

³ But ^(A)sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness ^(B)must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. ⁴ Let there be ^(C)no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, ^(D)which are out of place, but instead ^(E)let there be thanksgiving. ⁵ For you may be sure of this, that ^(F)everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (^(G)that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. ^6 (H)Let no one ^(I)deceive you with empty words, for because of these things ^(J)the wrath of God comes upon ^(K)the sons of disobedience.

^8 (A)But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, ^(B)their portion will be in ^(C)the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is ^(D)the second death.”

³ For ^(A)we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.

⁸ For ^(A)the one who sows to his own flesh ^(B)will from the flesh reap corruption, but ^(C)the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
