Dios se acuerda de Noé
8 Entonces Dios se acordó de Noé y de todos los animales que estaban con él en el barco. Dios hizo soplar un fuerte viento sobre la tierra, de modo que las aguas comenzaron a bajar. 2 Se cerraron tanto las fuentes del mar profundo como las compuertas de los cielos, y dejó de llover. 3 Las aguas fueron bajando poco a poco. Después de ciento cincuenta días las aguas habían bajado bastante. 4 Fue por eso que el día diecisiete del mes séptimo el barco se posó sobre las montañas de Ararat. 5 El agua siguió bajando, de modo que el día primero del mes décimo pudieron verse las partes más altas de las montañas.
6 Después de cuarenta días, Noé abrió la ventana que le había hecho al barco 7 y soltó un cuervo, el cual estuvo volando de un lado a otro esperando que la tierra se secara, pero no regresó. 8 Luego Noé soltó una paloma, para ver si ya la tierra estaba seca. 9 Pero la paloma regresó al barco, porque no encontró un lugar seco en el cual pudiera posarse. Entonces Noé extendió su mano, agarró a la paloma y la metió al barco. 10 Esperó otros siete días más y volvió a soltar la paloma. 11 Ya estaba oscureciendo cuando la paloma regresó, trayendo en su pico una ramita verde de olivo. Por eso, Noé se dio cuenta de que las aguas habían bajado mucho, de modo que ya se podía ver la tierra seca. 12 Siete días después volvió a soltar la paloma, pero esta vez la paloma no regresó.
13 Cuando Noé tenía seiscientos un años de vida, las aguas desaparecieron. El primer día del mes primero de ese año, Noé retiró el techo del barco y vio que la tierra estaba casi seca. 14 El día veintisiete del segundo mes, la tierra ya estaba completamente seca. 15 Entonces Dios le dijo a Noé: 16-17 «Ya pueden salir todos. Deja salir a todos los animales, aves y reptiles para que se reproduzcan abundantemente y llenen la tierra».
18 Así que Noé, sus hijos, su esposa y sus nueras salieron del barco. 19 También salieron todos los animales, según su propia especie: los animales salvajes y los domésticos, las aves y los reptiles.
20 Después Noé construyó un altar para adorar al Señor. En ese altar Noé le ofreció a Dios animales y aves adecuados para el sacrificio, es decir, que eran puros. 21 Al Señor le agradó mucho el olor de los sacrificios, y se dijo a sí mismo: «Nunca más volveré a maldecir la tierra por culpa de la humanidad, pues todos los seres humanos están inclinados hacia el mal desde que son niños. ¡Jamás volveré a destruir a los seres vivos, como lo hice en esta ocasión! 22 Mientras exista la tierra, habrá siembra y cosecha; siempre habrá frío y calor, verano e invierno, los días y las noches».

8 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;
2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;
3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.
4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.
6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:
7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;
9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;
11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.
13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.
14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.
15 And God spake unto Noah, saying,
16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.
17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.
18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him:
19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.
20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

The Water Dries Up
8 Then (A)God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the cattle that were with him in the ark; and (B)God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the water subsided. 2 Also (C)the fountains of the deep and the [a]floodgates of the sky were closed, and (D)the rain from the sky was restrained; 3 and the water receded from the earth, going forth and returning, and at the end (E)of 150 days the water decreased. 4 In the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, (F)the ark rested upon the mountains of Ararat. 5 Now the water decreased steadily until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains appeared.
6 Then it happened at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the (G)window of the ark which he had made; 7 and he sent out a raven, and it went out flying back and forth until the water was dried up [b]from the earth. 8 Then he sent out a dove from him, to see if the water was abated from the face of the land; 9 but the dove found no resting place for the sole of its foot, so it returned to him into the ark, for the water was on the [c]surface of all the earth. Then he stretched out his hand and took it and brought it into the ark to himself. 10 Then he waited yet another seven days; and again he sent out the dove from the ark. 11 And the dove came to him toward [d]evening, and behold, in its [e]beak was a freshly picked olive leaf. So Noah knew that the water was abated from the earth. 12 Then he waited yet another seven days and sent out (H)the dove; but it did not return to him again.
13 Now it happened in the (I)six hundred and first year, in the first month, on the first of the month, the water was dried up [f]from the earth. Then Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and behold, the [g]surface of the ground was dried up. 14 In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry. 15 Then God spoke to Noah, saying, 16 “Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons’ wives with you. 17 Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you, birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, that they may (J)swarm on the earth, and that they may be fruitful and multiply on the earth.” 18 So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him. 19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out [h]by their families from the ark.
Yahweh’s Covenant with Noah
20 Then Noah built (K)an altar to Yahweh and took of every (L)clean animal and of every clean bird and offered (M)burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And Yahweh (N)smelled the [i]soothing aroma; and Yahweh said [j]to Himself, “I will never again (O)curse the ground because of man, for (P)the [k]intent of man’s heart is evil from his youth; (Q)and I will never again strike down every living thing as I have done.
22 While all the days of the earth remain,
Seedtime and harvest,
And cold and heat,
And (R)summer and winter,
And (S)day and night
Shall not cease.”

13 And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry. 14 And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried.
15 Then God spoke to Noah, saying, 16 “Go out of the ark, (H)you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you. 17 Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you: birds and cattle and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, so that they may abound on the earth, and (I)be fruitful and multiply on the earth.” 18 So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him. 19 Every animal, every creeping thing, every bird, and whatever creeps on the earth, according to their families, went out of the ark.
God’s Covenant with Creation
20 Then Noah built an (J)altar to the Lord, and took of (K)every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered (L)burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the Lord smelled (M)a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again (N)curse the ground for man’s sake, although the (O)imagination[a] of man’s heart is evil from his youth; (P)nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.
22 “While the earth (Q)remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And (R)day and night
Shall not cease.”
