“I am too ashamed^(A) and disgraced, my God, to lift up my face to you, because our sins are higher than our heads and our guilt has reached to the heavens.^(B)

“Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God,^(A) who keeps his covenant of love^(B) with those who love him and keep his commandments,

⁶ You alone are the Lord.^(A) You made the heavens,^(B) even the highest heavens, and all their starry host,^(C) the earth^(D) and all that is on it, the seas^(E) and all that is in them.^(F) You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven^(G) worship you.

¹³ “You came down on Mount Sinai;^(A) you spoke^(B) to them from heaven.^(C) You gave them regulations and laws that are just^(D) and right, and decrees and commands that are good.^(E)

¹⁵ In their hunger you gave them bread from heaven^(A) and in their thirst you brought them water from the rock;^(B) you told them to go in and take possession of the land you had sworn with uplifted hand^(C) to give them.^(D)

²⁷ So you delivered them into the hands of their enemies,^(A) who oppressed them. But when they were oppressed they cried out to you. From heaven you heard them, and in your great compassion^(B) you gave them deliverers,^(C) who rescued them from the hand of their enemies.
