²⁸ And I said to them, ^(A)“You are holy to the Lord, and ^(B)the vessels are holy, and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering to the Lord, the God of your fathers.

² “Speak to Aaron and his sons so that they ^(A)abstain from the holy things of the people of Israel, which they ^(B)dedicate to me, so that they do not ^(C)profane my holy name: I am the Lord. ³ Say to them, ‘If any one of all your offspring throughout your generations approaches the holy things that the people of Israel dedicate to the Lord, while ^(D)he has an uncleanness, that person shall be cut off from my presence: I am the Lord.

⁶ They shall be holy to their God and ^(A)not profane the name of their God. For they offer the Lord's food offerings, ^(B)the bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy. ^7 (C)They shall not marry a prostitute or a woman who has been defiled, neither shall they marry a woman ^(D)divorced from her husband, for the priest is holy to his God. ⁸ You shall sanctify him, for he offers the bread of your God. He shall be holy to you, for ^(E)I, the Lord, who sanctify you, ^(F)am holy.

^7 (A)Cyrus the king also brought out the vessels of the house of the Lord that ^(B)Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and placed in the house of his gods. ⁸ Cyrus king of Persia brought these out in the charge of ^(C)Mithredath the treasurer, who counted them out to ^(D)Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah. ⁹ And this was the number of them: ^(E)30 basins of gold, 1,000 basins of silver, 29 censers, ¹⁰ 30 bowls of gold, 410 bowls of silver, and 1,000 other vessels; ¹¹ all the vessels of gold and of silver were 5,400. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up, when the exiles were brought up from Babylonia to Jerusalem.

¹⁴ And when they had finished, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, and with it ^(A)were made utensils for the house of the Lord, both for the service and for the burnt offerings, and dishes for incense and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the Lord regularly all the days of Jehoiada.

²⁸ For their duty was to assist the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the Lord, having the care of the courts and the chambers, the cleansing of all that is holy, and any work for the service of the house of God.

⁴⁸ So Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of the Lord: ^(A)the golden altar, ^(B)the golden table for ^(C)the bread of the Presence, ^49 (D)the lampstands of pure gold, five on the south side and five on the north, before the inner sanctuary; ^(E)the flowers, the lamps, and the tongs, of gold; ⁵⁰ the cups, snuffers, basins, dishes for incense, and ^(F)fire pans, of pure gold; and the sockets of gold, for the doors of the innermost part of the house, ^(G)the Most Holy Place, and for the doors of the nave of the temple.

⁵¹ Thus all the work that King Solomon did on the house of the Lord was finished. And Solomon brought in ^(H)the things that David his father had dedicated, the silver, the gold, and the vessels, and stored them in the treasuries of the house of the Lord.

⁸ And ^(A)of Levi he said,
