Daily Offerings

28 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Command the Israelites, and say to them: My offering, the food for my offerings by fire,[a] my pleasing odor, you shall take care to offer to me at its appointed time.(A) And you shall say to them: This is the offering by fire[b] that you shall offer to the Lord: two male lambs a year old without blemish, daily, as a regular offering.(B) One lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer at twilight;[c] also one-tenth of an ephah of choice flour for a grain offering, mixed with one-fourth of a hin of beaten oil. It is a regular burnt offering, ordained at Mount Sinai for a pleasing odor, an offering by fire[d] to the Lord. Its drink offering shall be one-fourth of a hin for each lamb; in the sanctuary you shall pour out a drink offering of strong drink to the Lord.(C) The other lamb you shall offer at twilight[e] with a grain offering and a drink offering like the one in the morning; you shall offer it as an offering by fire,[f] a pleasing odor to the Lord.

Sabbath Offerings

“On the Sabbath day: two male lambs a year old without blemish and two-tenths of an ephah of choice flour for a grain offering, mixed with oil, and its drink offering— 10 this is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering.(D)

Monthly Offerings

11 “At the beginnings of your months you shall offer a burnt offering to the Lord: two young bulls, one ram, seven male lambs a year old without blemish;(E) 12 also three-tenths of an ephah of choice flour for a grain offering, mixed with oil, for each bull; and two-tenths of choice flour for a grain offering, mixed with oil, for the one ram;(F) 13 and one-tenth of choice flour mixed with oil as a grain offering for each lamb—a burnt offering of pleasing odor, an offering by fire[g] to the Lord. 14 Their drink offerings shall be half a hin of wine for a bull, one-third of a hin for a ram, and one-fourth of a hin for a lamb. This is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year. 15 And there shall be one male goat for a purification offering to the Lord; it shall be offered in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering.(G)

Offerings at Passover

16 “On the fourteenth day of the first month there shall be a Passover offering to the Lord.(H) 17 And on the fifteenth day of this month is a festival; seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.(I) 18 On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall not work at your occupations.(J) 19 You shall offer an offering by fire,[h] a burnt offering to the Lord: two young bulls, one ram, and seven male lambs a year old; see that they are without blemish. 20 Their grain offering shall be of choice flour mixed with oil: three-tenths of an ephah shall you offer for a bull and two-tenths for a ram; 21 one-tenth shall you offer for each of the seven lambs; 22 also one male goat for a purification offering, to make atonement for you. 23 You shall offer these in addition to the burnt offering of the morning, which belongs to the regular burnt offering.(K) 24 In the same way you shall offer daily, for seven days, the food of an offering by fire,[i] a pleasing odor to the Lord; it shall be offered in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering. 25 And on the seventh day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall not work at your occupations.(L)

Offerings at the Festival of Weeks

26 “On the day of the first fruits, when you offer a grain offering of new grain to the Lord at your Festival of Weeks, you shall have a holy convocation; you shall not work at your occupations.(M) 27 You shall offer a burnt offering, a pleasing odor to the Lord: two young bulls, one ram, seven male lambs a year old. 28 Their grain offering shall be of choice flour mixed with oil: three-tenths of an ephah for each bull, two-tenths for the one ram, 29 one-tenth for each of the seven lambs,

Sabbath Offerings

“‘On the Sabbath(S) day, make an offering of two lambs a year old without defect,(T) together with its drink offering and a grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah[c](U) of the finest flour mixed with olive oil.(V) 10 This is the burnt offering for every Sabbath,(W) in addition to the regular burnt offering(X) and its drink offering.

11 “‘On the first of every month,(Y) present to the Lord a burnt offering of two young bulls,(Z) one ram(AA) and seven male lambs a year old, all without defect.(AB) 12 With each bull there is to be a grain offering(AC) of three-tenths of an ephah[d](AD) of the finest flour mixed with oil; with the ram, a grain offering of two-tenths(AE) of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with oil; 13 and with each lamb, a grain offering(AF) of a tenth(AG) of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with oil. This is for a burnt offering,(AH) a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord.(AI) 14 With each bull there is to be a drink offering(AJ) of half a hin[e] of wine; with the ram, a third of a hin[f]; and with each lamb, a quarter of a hin. This is the monthly burnt offering to be made at each new moon(AK) during the year. 15 Besides the regular burnt offering(AL) with its drink offering, one male goat(AM) is to be presented to the Lord as a sin offering.[g](AN)

The Passover(AO)

16 “‘On the fourteenth day of the first month the Lord’s Passover(AP) is to be held. 17 On the fifteenth day of this month there is to be a festival; for seven days(AQ) eat bread made without yeast.(AR) 18 On the first day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.(AS) 19 Present to the Lord a food offering(AT) consisting of a burnt offering of two young bulls, one ram and seven male lambs a year old, all without defect.(AU) 20 With each bull offer a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah(AV) of the finest flour mixed with oil; with the ram, two-tenths;(AW) 21 and with each of the seven lambs, one-tenth.(AX) 22 Include one male goat as a sin offering(AY) to make atonement for you.(AZ) 23 Offer these in addition to the regular morning burnt offering. 24 In this way present the food offering every day for seven days as an aroma pleasing to the Lord;(BA) it is to be offered in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering. 25 On the seventh day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.

The Festival of Weeks(BB)

26 “‘On the day of firstfruits,(BC) when you present to the Lord an offering of new grain during the Festival of Weeks,(BD) hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.(BE) 27 Present a burnt offering of two young bulls, one ram and seven male lambs a year old as an aroma pleasing to the Lord.(BF) 28 With each bull there is to be a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with oil; with the ram, two-tenths;(BG) 29 and with each of the seven lambs, one-tenth.(BH)

11 “Thus it shall be done for each ox or ram or for each of the male lambs or the kids. 12 According to the number that you offer, so you shall do with each and every one. 13 Every native Israelite shall do these things in this way, in presenting an offering by fire,[b] a pleasing odor to the Lord. 14 An alien who lives with you or who takes up permanent residence among you and wishes to offer an offering by fire,[c] a pleasing odor to the Lord, shall do as you do. 15 As for the assembly, there shall be for both you and the resident alien a single statute, a perpetual statute throughout your generations; you and the alien shall be alike before the Lord.(F) 16 You and the alien who resides with you shall have the same law and the same ordinance.”

17 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 18 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: After you come into the land to which I am bringing you,(G) 19 whenever you eat of the bread of the land you shall present a donation to the Lord.(H) 20 From your first batch of dough you shall present a loaf as a donation; you shall present it just as you present a donation from the threshing floor.(I) 21 Throughout your generations you shall give to the Lord a donation from the first of your batch of dough.

22 “But if you unintentionally fail to observe all these commandments that the Lord has spoken to Moses(J) 23 everything that the Lord has commanded you by Moses, from the day the Lord gave commandment and thereafter, throughout your generations— 24 then if it was done unintentionally without the knowledge[d] of the congregation, the whole congregation shall offer one young bull for a burnt offering, a pleasing odor to the Lord, together with its grain offering and its drink offering, according to the ordinance, and one male goat for a purification offering.(K) 25 The priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the Israelites, and they shall be forgiven; it was unintentional, and they have brought their offering, an offering by fire[e] to the Lord, and their purification offering before the Lord, for their error.(L) 26 All the congregation of the Israelites shall be forgiven, as well as the aliens residing among you, because the whole people was involved in the error.

27 “An individual who sins unintentionally shall present a female goat a year old for a purification offering.(M) 28 And the priest shall make atonement before the Lord for the one who commits an error, when it is unintentional, to make atonement for the person, who then shall be forgiven.(N) 29 For both the native among the Israelites and the alien residing among you, you shall have the same law for anyone who acts in error.(O) 30 But whoever acts high-handedly, whether native-born or an alien, affronts the Lord and shall be cut off from among the people. 31 Because of having despised the word of the Lord and broken his commandment, such a person shall be utterly cut off and bear the guilt.”(P)

“‘When you prepare a young bull(M) as a burnt offering or sacrifice, for a special vow(N) or a fellowship offering(O) to the Lord, bring with the bull a grain offering(P) of three-tenths of an ephah[e](Q) of the finest flour mixed with half a hin[f] of olive oil, 10 and also bring half a hin of wine(R) as a drink offering.(S) This will be a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.(T) 11 Each bull or ram, each lamb or young goat, is to be prepared in this manner. 12 Do this for each one, for as many as you prepare.(U)

13 “‘Everyone who is native-born(V) must do these things in this way when they present a food offering as an aroma pleasing to the Lord.(W) 14 For the generations to come,(X) whenever a foreigner(Y) or anyone else living among you presents a food(Z) offering(AA) as an aroma pleasing to the Lord, they must do exactly as you do. 15 The community is to have the same rules for you and for the foreigner residing among you; this is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.(AB) You and the foreigner shall be the same before the Lord: 16 The same laws and regulations will apply both to you and to the foreigner residing among you.(AC)’”

17 The Lord said to Moses, 18 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter the land to which I am taking you(AD) 19 and you eat the food of the land,(AE) present a portion as an offering to the Lord.(AF) 20 Present a loaf from the first of your ground meal(AG) and present it as an offering from the threshing floor.(AH) 21 Throughout the generations to come(AI) you are to give this offering to the Lord from the first of your ground meal.(AJ)

Offerings for Unintentional Sins

22 “‘Now if you as a community unintentionally fail to keep any of these commands the Lord gave Moses(AK) 23 any of the Lord’s commands to you through him, from the day the Lord gave them and continuing through the generations to come(AL) 24 and if this is done unintentionally(AM) without the community being aware of it,(AN) then the whole community is to offer a young bull for a burnt offering(AO) as an aroma pleasing to the Lord,(AP) along with its prescribed grain offering(AQ) and drink offering,(AR) and a male goat for a sin offering.[g](AS) 25 The priest is to make atonement for the whole Israelite community, and they will be forgiven,(AT) for it was not intentional(AU) and they have presented to the Lord for their wrong a food offering(AV) and a sin offering.(AW) 26 The whole Israelite community and the foreigners residing among them will be forgiven, because all the people were involved in the unintentional wrong.(AX)

27 “‘But if just one person sins unintentionally,(AY) that person must bring a year-old female goat for a sin offering.(AZ) 28 The priest is to make atonement(BA) before the Lord for the one who erred by sinning unintentionally, and when atonement has been made, that person will be forgiven.(BB) 29 One and the same law applies to everyone who sins unintentionally, whether a native-born Israelite or a foreigner residing among you.(BC)

30 “‘But anyone who sins defiantly,(BD) whether native-born or foreigner,(BE) blasphemes the Lord(BF) and must be cut off from the people of Israel.(BG) 31 Because they have despised(BH) the Lord’s word and broken his commands,(BI) they must surely be cut off; their guilt remains on them.(BJ)’”

Grain Offerings

“When anyone presents a grain offering to the Lord, the offering shall be of choice flour; the worshiper shall pour oil on it and put frankincense on it(A) and bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests. After taking from it a handful of the choice flour and oil, with all its frankincense, the priest shall turn this token portion into smoke on the altar, an offering by fire[a] of pleasing odor to the Lord.(B) And what is left of the grain offering shall be for Aaron and his sons, a most holy part of the offerings by fire[b] to the Lord.(C)

“When you present a grain offering baked in the oven, it shall be of choice flour: unleavened cakes mixed with oil or unleavened wafers spread with oil. If your offering is grain prepared on a griddle, it shall be of choice flour mixed with oil, unleavened; break it in pieces and pour oil on it; it is a grain offering. If your offering is grain prepared in a pan, it shall be made of choice flour in oil. You shall bring to the Lord the grain offering that is prepared in any of these ways, and when it is presented to the priest, he shall take it to the altar. The priest shall remove from the grain offering its token portion and turn this into smoke on the altar, an offering by fire[c] of pleasing odor to the Lord.(D) 10 And what is left of the grain offering shall be for Aaron and his sons; it is a most holy part of the offerings by fire[d] to the Lord.(E)

11 “No grain offering that you bring to the Lord shall be made with leaven, for you must not turn any leaven or honey into smoke as an offering by fire[e] to the Lord.(F) 12 You may bring them to the Lord as an offering of choice products, but they shall not be offered on the altar for a pleasing odor.(G) 13 All your grain offerings you shall season with salt; you shall not omit from your grain offerings the salt of the covenant with your God; with all your offerings you shall offer salt.(H)

14 “If you bring a grain offering of first fruits to the Lord, you shall bring as the grain offering of your first fruits crushed new grain from fresh ears, roasted in fire.(I) 15 You shall add oil to it and lay frankincense on it; it is a grain offering. 16 And the priest shall turn a token portion of it into smoke—some of the crushed grain and oil with all its frankincense; it is an offering by fire[f] to the Lord.(J)

The Grain Offering

“‘When anyone brings a grain offering(A) to the Lord, their offering is to be of the finest flour.(B) They are to pour olive oil(C) on it,(D) put incense on it(E) and take it to Aaron’s sons the priests. The priest shall take a handful of the flour(F) and oil, together with all the incense,(G) and burn this as a memorial[a] portion(H) on the altar, a food offering,(I) an aroma pleasing to the Lord.(J) The rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons;(K) it is a most holy(L) part of the food offerings presented to the Lord.

“‘If you bring a grain offering baked in an oven,(M) it is to consist of the finest flour: either thick loaves made without yeast and with olive oil mixed in or thin loaves(N) made without yeast and brushed with olive oil.(O) If your grain offering is prepared on a griddle,(P) it is to be made of the finest flour mixed with oil, and without yeast. Crumble it and pour oil on it; it is a grain offering. If your grain offering is cooked in a pan,(Q) it is to be made of the finest flour and some olive oil. Bring the grain offering made of these things to the Lord; present it to the priest, who shall take it to the altar. He shall take out the memorial portion(R) from the grain offering and burn it on the altar as a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.(S) 10 The rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons;(T) it is a most holy part of the food offerings presented to the Lord.(U)

11 “‘Every grain offering you bring to the Lord must be made without yeast,(V) for you are not to burn any yeast or honey in a food offering presented to the Lord. 12 You may bring them to the Lord as an offering of the firstfruits,(W) but they are not to be offered on the altar as a pleasing aroma. 13 Season all your grain offerings with salt.(X) Do not leave the salt of the covenant(Y) of your God out of your grain offerings; add salt to all your offerings.

14 “‘If you bring a grain offering of firstfruits(Z) to the Lord, offer crushed heads of new grain roasted in the fire. 15 Put oil and incense(AA) on it; it is a grain offering. 16 The priest shall burn the memorial portion(AB) of the crushed grain and the oil, together with all the incense,(AC) as a food offering presented to the Lord.(AD)

38 “Now this is what you shall offer on the altar: two lambs a year old regularly each day.(A) 39 One lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer in the evening, 40 and with the first lamb one-tenth of a measure of choice flour mixed with one-fourth of a hin of beaten oil, and one-fourth of a hin of wine for a drink offering. 41 And the other lamb you shall offer in the evening and shall offer with it a grain offering and its drink offering, as in the morning, for a pleasing odor, an offering by fire[a] to the Lord. 42 It shall be a regular burnt offering throughout your generations at the entrance of the tent of meeting before the Lord, where I will meet with you, to speak to you there.(B)
