Prófécia a pásztorok ellen
34 Az Örökkévaló szava érkezett hozzám: 2 „Ember fia, prófétálj Izráel népének pásztorai[a] ellen! Prófétálj, és mondd a pásztoroknak: Ezt üzeni nektek Uram, az Örökkévaló: Jaj a pásztoroknak, akik csak magukkal törődnek! Hát a pásztornak nem a nyájra kell gondot viselnie?! 3 A juhok tejét isszátok, a gyapjúval ruházkodtok, a hízottakat levágjátok, de a nyájjal nem törődtök! 4 A gyengét nem erősítitek, a beteget nem gyógyítjátok, a törött lábút nem kötözitek be, ha elkószál, nem mentek utána, ha eltéved, nem keresitek meg, csak uralkodtok rajtuk, kemény szívvel és kegyetlenül!
5 Nyájam szétszóródott, mert nincs pásztoruk, elszéledtek, és vadak szaggatták szét őket. 6 Juhaim szétszóródtak, és egyedül kóboroltak, hegyeken és dombokon tévelyegtek,[b] szétszéledtek mindenfelé a földön, de senki sem törődött velük, senki sem nézett utánuk.”
7 Halljátok meg hát, ti pásztorok az Örökkévaló szavát! 8 „Életemre mondom — ezt üzeni nektek Uram, az Örökkévaló —, hogy nyájam vadak zsákmánya lett, bárányaimat mezei vadak szaggatták széjjel, mert nem volt pásztoruk! Pásztoraim nem viseltek gondot nyájamra, csak magukkal törődtek, nyájamra nem viseltek gondot!”
9 Halljátok meg hát, pásztorok, az Örökkévaló szavát! 10 Ezt üzeni nektek Uram, az Örökkévaló: „Nézzétek! A pásztorok ellen fordulok, számon kérem nyájamat rajtuk, és elszámolok velük. Többé nem pásztorolják nyájamat, felmondok nekik, elküldöm őket! Nem hizlalják magukat juhaimmal, kimentem kezükből bárányaimat, nem falják fel őket többé soha!”
11 Ezt mondja Uram, az Örökkévaló: „Ezentúl magam viselek gondot a nyájamra, én leszek a pásztoruk, s megkeresem őket! 12 Azon a napon megállok közöttük, ahogy a pásztor áll elszéledt nyája között, és megkeresem őket, mindegyiket! Felkutatom juhaimat, kiszabadítom őket mindenhonnan, ahová szétszóródtak azon a sötét és borús napon. 13 Kihozom őket a nemzetek közül, összegyűjtöm nyájamat a messzi földekről, s beviszem őket földjükre. Én leszek a pásztoruk Izráel hegyein, meg a folyók mellett, és gondjukat viselem az ország minden lakóhelyén. 14 Jó legelőkön legeltetem őket, Izráel magas hegyein lesz nyugvóhelyük. Ott fognak megpihenni, jó akolban, dús legelőn legelnek majd Izráel hegyein. 15 Magam legeltetem nyájamat, s a pihenőhelyükre vezetem őket.” — ezt mondja Uram, az Örökkévaló.
16 „Eltévedt juhaimat megkeresem, amelyik elkószált, visszahozom, a törött lábút bekötözöm, a gyengét erősítem, az erőseket szemmel tartom. Pásztorolom mindegyiket, ahogyan kell, igazsággal és ítélettel.
17 Köztetek is igazságot teszek, hiszen nyájam vagytok — azt mondja Uram, az Örökkévaló. — Rendet teremtek a juhok között, igazságot teszek a kosok és bakok között. 18 Nem elég nektek, hogy dús füvet legeltek? Miért tapossátok össze a maradékát a többiek orra előtt? Tiszta friss vizet ihattok, miért zavarjátok össze azt a többiek orra előtt? 19 Azt legelje nyájam, amit összetiportatok? Azt a zavaros vizet igyák, amelyet ti kavartatok föl?”
20 Ezért azt üzeni nektek Uram, az Örökkévaló: „Magam teszek igazságot juhaim között, magam ítélek hízott és sovány juhaim között. 21 Ti kövérek, a gyengéket félrelökdösitek, szarvatokkal öklelitek, egészen elüldözitek őket! 22 Megszabadítom hát juhaimat, hogy ne essenek zsákmányul a vadaknak, s igazságot teszek juhaim között. 23 Egyetlen pásztor kezére bízom őket, szolgámat rendelem föléjük, Dávidot. Ő viseli gondjukat, legelteti és vezeti őket. Ő lesz nyájam pásztora! 24 Én, az Örökkévaló leszek Istenük; szolgám, Dávid pedig a fejedelmük. Így lesz, mert én mondtam ezt, az Örökkévaló!
25 Szövetséget kötök velük békességre és bőségre, a gonosz vadállatokat pedig kiirtom a földről. Nyájam biztonságban legelhet a tágas legelőn, nyugton pihenhet az erdőkben. 26 Megáldom nyájamat, és mind, akik magaslatom körül laknak, esőt adok nekik idejében, áldásom záporozik rájuk bőségesen. 27 A gyümölcsfák bőven teremnek majd, gazdag aratást hoz a szántóföld, nyájam pedig biztonságban élhet földjén. Akkor megtudjátok, akkor megértitek, hogy én vagyok az Örökkévaló, aki letöröm nyakatokról az igát[c], és megszabadítom nyájamat azoktól, akik szolgaságban tartották őket.
28 Nem lesznek többé zsákmányul a nemzeteknek, nem szaggatják szét őket a vadak, hanem áldott nyugalomban tanyáznak, senkitől sem kell félniük. 29 Olyan földet adok nekik, amelyen gyönyörű kerteket művelnek, gyümölcseik messze földön híresek lesznek, éhínség nem sanyargatja őket soha, többé nem gúnyolják őket a nemzetek. 30 Akkor végre mind megértik, megtudják, hogy én, az Örökkévaló vagyok Istenük, ők pedig népem, Izráel nemzete.” — ezt mondja Uram, az Örökkévaló.
31 „Bizony, juhaim vagytok, legelőim nyája, emberek! Én pedig Istenetek vagyok.” — ezt mondja Uram, az Örökkévaló.

Ítélet a hűtlen pásztorok fölött
34 Így szólt hozzám az Úr igéje:
2 Emberfia! Prófétálj Izráel pásztorairól! Prófétálj, és mondd meg a pásztoroknak: Így szól az én Uram, az Úr: Jaj Izráel pásztorainak, akik magukat legeltették! Hát nem a nyájat kell legeltetniük a pásztoroknak?
3 A tejet megittátok, a gyapjúval ruházkodtatok, a kövéret levágtátok, de a nyájat nem legeltettétek!
4 A gyengét nem erősítettétek, a beteget nem gyógyítottátok, a sérültet nem kötöztétek be, az eltévedtet nem tereltétek vissza, és az elveszettet nem kerestétek meg, hanem erőszakosan és kegyetlenül uralkodtatok rajtuk.

A jó pásztor uralkodása
11 Mert így szól az én Uram, az Úr: Majd én magam keresem meg juhaimat, és én viselem gondjukat.

The Message
When the Sheep Get Scattered
34 1-6 God’s Message came to me: “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherd-leaders of Israel. Yes, prophesy! Tell those shepherds, ‘God, the Master, says: Doom to you shepherds of Israel, feeding your own mouths! Aren’t shepherds supposed to feed sheep? You drink the milk, you make clothes from the wool, you roast the lambs, but you don’t feed the sheep. You don’t build up the weak ones, don’t heal the sick, don’t doctor the injured, don’t go after the strays, don’t look for the lost. You bully and badger them. And now they’re scattered every which way because there was no shepherd—scattered and easy pickings for wolves and coyotes. Scattered—my sheep!—exposed and vulnerable across mountains and hills. My sheep scattered all over the world, and no one out looking for them!
7-9 “‘Therefore, shepherds, listen to the Message of God: As sure as I am the living God—Decree of God, the Master—because my sheep have been turned into mere prey, into easy meals for wolves because you shepherds ignored them and only fed yourselves, listen to what God has to say:
10 “‘Watch out! I’m coming down on the shepherds and taking my sheep back. They’re fired as shepherds of my sheep. No more shepherds who just feed themselves! I’ll rescue my sheep from their greed. They’re not going to feed off my sheep any longer!
11-16 “‘God, the Master, says: From now on, I myself am the shepherd. I’m going looking for them. As shepherds go after their flocks when they get scattered, I’m going after my sheep. I’ll rescue them from all the places they’ve been scattered to in the storms. I’ll bring them back from foreign peoples, gather them from foreign countries, and bring them back to their home country. I’ll feed them on the mountains of Israel, along the streams, among their own people. I’ll lead them into lush pasture so they can roam the mountain pastures of Israel, graze at leisure, feed in the rich pastures on the mountains of Israel. And I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep. I myself will make sure they get plenty of rest. I’ll go after the lost, I’ll collect the strays, I’ll doctor the injured, I’ll build up the weak ones and oversee the strong ones so they’re not exploited.
17-19 “‘And as for you, my dear flock, I’m stepping in and judging between one sheep and another, between rams and goats. Aren’t you satisfied to feed in good pasture without taking over the whole place? Can’t you be satisfied to drink from the clear stream without muddying the water with your feet? Why do the rest of my sheep have to make do with grass that’s trampled down and water that’s been muddied?
20-22 “‘Therefore, God, the Master, says: I myself am stepping in and making things right between the plump sheep and the skinny sheep. Because you forced your way with shoulder and rump and butted at all the weaker animals with your horns till you scattered them all over the hills, I’ll come in and save my dear flock, no longer let them be pushed around. I’ll step in and set things right between one sheep and another.
23-24 “‘I’ll appoint one shepherd over them all: my servant David. He’ll feed them. He’ll be their shepherd. And I, God, will be their God. My servant David will be their prince. I, God, have spoken.
25-27 “‘I’ll make a covenant of peace with them. I’ll banish fierce animals from the country so the sheep can live safely in the wilderness and sleep in the forest. I’ll make them and everything around my hill a blessing. I’ll send down plenty of rain in season—showers of blessing! The trees in the orchards will bear fruit, the ground will produce, they’ll feel content and safe on their land, and they’ll realize that I am God when I break them out of their slavery and rescue them from their slave masters.
28-29 “‘No longer will they be exploited by outsiders and ravaged by fierce beasts. They’ll live safe and sound, fearless and free. I’ll give them rich gardens, lavish in vegetables—no more living half-starved, no longer taunted by outsiders.
30-31 “‘They’ll know, beyond doubting, that I, God, am their God, that I’m with them and that they, the people Israel, are my people. Decree of God, the Master:
You are my dear flock,
the flock of my pasture, my human flock,
And I am your God.
Decree of God, the Master.’”

Prophecy Against the Shepherds of Israel
34 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 (A)“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy, and say to them, even to the shepherds, Thus says the Lord God: (B)Ah, shepherds of Israel (C)who have been feeding yourselves! (D)Should not shepherds feed the sheep? 3 (E)You eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, (F)you slaughter the fat ones, but you do not feed the sheep. 4 (G)The weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed, (H)the injured you have not bound up, (I)the strayed you have not brought back, (J)the lost you have not sought, and with force and (K)harshness you have ruled them. 5 (L)So they were scattered, because there was no shepherd, and (M)they became food for all the wild beasts. My sheep were scattered; 6 they wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. My sheep were scattered over all the face of the earth, (N)with none to search or seek for them.
7 “Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 8 (O)As I live, declares the Lord God, surely because (P)my sheep have become a prey, and my sheep have become food for all the wild beasts, since there was no shepherd, and because my shepherds have not searched for my sheep, but the shepherds have fed themselves, and have not fed my sheep, 9 therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 10 Thus says the Lord God, (Q)Behold, I am against the shepherds, and (R)I will require my sheep at their hand and (S)put a stop to their feeding the sheep. (T)No longer shall the shepherds feed themselves. (U)I will rescue my sheep from their mouths, that they may not be food for them.
The Lord God Will Seek Them Out
11 “For thus says the Lord God: (V)Behold, I, I (W)myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. 12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on (X)a day of clouds and (Y)thick darkness. 13 And I will bring them out from the peoples (Z)and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land. And I will feed them on (AA)the mountains of Israel, by the ravines, and in all the inhabited places of the country. 14 (AB)I will feed them with good pasture, and on the mountain heights of Israel shall be their grazing land. (AC)There they shall lie down in good grazing land, and on rich pasture they shall feed on the mountains of Israel. 15 (AD)I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, (AE)and I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord God. 16 (AF)I will seek the lost, (AG)and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and (AH)the fat and the strong I will destroy.[a] I will feed them in justice.
17 “As for you, my flock, thus says the Lord God: (AI)Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, between rams and (AJ)male goats. 18 Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture, that you must tread down with your feet the rest of your pasture; and to drink of (AK)clear water, that you must muddy the rest of the water with your feet? 19 And must my sheep eat what you have trodden with your feet, and drink what you have muddied with your feet?
20 “Therefore, thus says the Lord God to them: Behold, I, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. 21 Because you push with side and shoulder, and (AL)thrust at all the (AM)weak with your horns, till you have scattered them abroad, 22 I will rescue[b] my flock; (AN)they shall no longer be a prey. And I will judge between sheep and sheep. 23 And (AO)I will set up over them one shepherd, (AP)my servant David, and he shall feed them: he shall feed them and be their shepherd. 24 And (AQ)I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David shall be prince among them. The Lord's Covenant of Peace
25 (AS)“I will make with them a covenant of peace and (AT)banish wild beasts from the land, (AU)so that they may dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods. 26 And I will make them and the places all around my hill (AV)a blessing, and (AW)I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be (AX)showers of blessing. 27 (AY)And the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase, (AZ)and they shall be secure in their land. And (BA)they shall know that I am the Lord, when (BB)I break the bars of their yoke, and (BC)deliver them from the hand of those who enslaved them. 28 (BD)They shall no more be a prey to the nations, (BE)nor shall the beasts of the land devour them. 7 ‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 8 “As I live,” says the Lord God, “surely because My flock became a prey, and My flock (K)became food for every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, nor did My shepherds search for My flock, (L)but the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock”— 9 therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the Lord! 10 Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I am (M)against the shepherds, and (N)I will require My flock at their hand; I will cause them to cease feeding the sheep, and the shepherds shall (O)feed themselves no more; for I will (P)deliver My flock from their mouths, that they may no longer be food for them.”
God, the True Shepherd
11 ‘For thus says the Lord God: “Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. 12 As a (Q)shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on (R)a cloudy and dark day. 13 And (S)I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land; I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, [b]in the valleys and in all the inhabited places of the country. 14 (T)I will feed them in good pasture, and their fold shall be on the high mountains of Israel. (U)There they shall lie down in a good fold and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. 15 I will feed My flock, and I will make them lie down,” says the Lord God. 16 (V)“I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick; but I will destroy (W)the fat and the strong, and feed them (X)in judgment.”
17 ‘And as for you, O My flock, thus says the Lord God: (Y)“Behold, I shall judge between sheep and sheep, between rams and goats. 18 Is it too little for you to have eaten up the good pasture, that you must tread down with your feet the [c]residue of your pasture—and to have drunk of the clear waters, that you must foul the residue with your feet? 19 And as for My flock, they eat what you have trampled with your feet, and they drink what you have fouled with your feet.”
20 ‘Therefore thus says the Lord God to them: (Z)“Behold, I Myself will judge between the fat and the lean sheep. 21 Because you have pushed with side and shoulder, butted all the weak ones with your horns, and scattered them abroad, 22 therefore I will save My flock, and they shall no longer be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep. 23 I will establish one (AA)shepherd over them, and he shall feed them—(AB)My servant David. He shall feed them and be their shepherd. 24 And (AC)I, the Lord, will be their God, and My servant David (AD)a prince among them; I, the Lord, have spoken.
